Rolex Date 34mm suggestion for skinny wrist

If you can live without date, I’ll throw this in! 34mm Oyster Perpetual Air-King. Ref. 14000.

I definitely need one with a Date! I already have a NOMOS Tangente without a Date function! So I need the DJ!

I went to an AD nearby today and had a look very briefly at both the 34mm and the 36mm and I can confirm that the 34 looks cramped and too busy with the small dial. Hence I have decided to go with the 36mm. I put my name for the new 36mm DJ which I guess will hit the stores this September. I however need some thoughts on the following questions:

1. The 36mm that I tried today - the bracelet was extremely loose for my tiny wrists. Is there a way to shorten it?

2. The AD was ready to give me a 10% discount on the old model that they have in stock! I guess I can bargain and even get a 15% discount on the MRP! So is this 15% discount worthy than the full price of the 2019 DJ model with the 3235 movement?

Please throw your suggestions that would help me decide on my first Rolex!

Yes, links can be taken out to fit you. I find the Jubilee bracelet super comfortable. I'm sure you'll have no problem having it sized properly.

I'm a big fan of the current Datejust with the hidden clasp. If you can score 15 percent off. That's icing on the cake. The movement update is nice but honestly power reserve isn't a deal breaker in all my years of rotating watches. I think 36mm is a great choice.

Thanks for the message! When you say the current DJ has the hidden clasp - What do you mean by this? So if I can squeeze a 15% on the current DJ, it's a steal? That might be possible, but I would have to compromise on the color. Probably they will do it for a Silver dial is my guess! But nevertheless, I will consider this!

As you can see in this photo - the clasp is hidden.

In addition to the hidden clasp on the jubilee, you should also consider the slightly different dial.

The older model has the railroad track on the outside, and comes in both white and silver:

The newer 2019 model doesn’t have the railroad tracks and comes in silver (white has Roman indices):

Good luck!

I have small wrists and the 36mm is too big for me. 34 is just right.

What size wrist? I feel 36 is a pretty good all around size. Even with a smaller wrist I pull off 40mm sports models.

The new datejust 36 (126234) looks smaller due to leaner lugs.

6.75” wrist. The 34mm OP was made for my wrist. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you 34mm is women’s size. First of all the 34mm wears every bit like a 36mm and secondly not everyone needs a Deep Sea SeaDweller to feel macho. Get what you like. I recommend the white OP personally.

Agree, do the homework by yourself

34 or 36 would probably be best.
