Too many AD's are arrogant jerks. I bought my AP in a company owned boutique and the employees we very nice and helpful all the way. From the initial contact, to me waiting just to get on a Royal Oak list, to putting the deposit and then purchase. They work for AP, not an AD, so they must act the way the company wants them too. Very respectful.

I wish Rolex had company owned boutiques. Would be better for everyone.

Life’s a roller coaster. The economy will turn, the rolex hype will die and the people they didn't treat well (the collectors, not the flippers obviously) will never set a foot there ever again.

They should just be nice and transparent with people. It’s not hard.

Great store..bought my first Rolex there years ago.

They are a great mix of arrogance, pomp but also solid competence. I always stop by when I'm in town. A little condescending attitude now and again never hurt anyone....actually is quite entertaining!

The Aventura Mayors is only surpassed in rudeness, pompousness and disgusting superiority complex by the Boca Mayors.
If you live in the area why would anyone subject themselves to that when they can go to JR Dunn where everyone is the polar opposite.
You still can't get a watch but at least you will be treated as an important customer even if you aren't one. They play the long game and know things will change and you will more than likely come back to them rather than Mayors when they do.

I'll be in Boca in December. Maybe I'll stop by just to rattle their cage. Usually when I visit these jokers I announce upfront I don't need any SS models.

Then you will get a SA with a smile on their face, and possibly a coffee.

Instead of a smirk and a punch in the balls. lol

Please send follow up post when you do. Make sure you try on all the PM watches before you walk out without purchase.

Mayors in Town Center Mall - Boca Raton

I would always check with Mayors in Boca Raton before buying any Luxury watch like a Rolex, Breitling or a Panerai.

Yeah, NO! To me, a condescending attitude is always a sign of incompetence. I don't dress to impress when I go watch shopping. I will also drive the "beater" if I know they can see me pulling up to the store for the first time. I abhor condescension and phoniness. Any good SA knows to ask the right questions and look past the first impression.

My wife and I frequent JRDunn whenever we go to our home in Fort Lauderdale. Great store and real nice people. They have one of the best John Hardy selections around. When I inquired about a Pepsi they flat out politely told me when they get one in, the make a call to one of their big spenders and see if they want the watch. So for me, it was no chance. And in that area, there are plenty of big spenders. I have no problem with that.

Steel sports rarely make it to the cases. They are in the safe in the back for when VVIP customers call, or for grey dealers willing to pay over list.

Rolex makes one million+ watches a year. There are plenty. Just look at any grey dealer in your area, they have all the new unworn favorites you would want. They are the AD's best customers.

That's all you can ask for is to be treated nicely and honestly. That should be 101 in every retail establishment. So I don't get the Mayors attitude problem. Every time myself or my wife get a new Rolex from Dunn we love to go into Mayors and wave it in front of their noses just to let them know. And I'm not talking just SS Sport models that they could care less about. In the not too distant future my two daughters will have ladies DJs on their wrist and then all four of us can go in. Even dumbass snot noses like them will realize how much money they left on the table. I wouldn't buy a watch from Mayors if they had the last Rolex in the universe. One day the defective attitude will cost them.

Why would you spend your time doing any of that?

You have an AD you prefer and you acquire the watches you want in the fashion that you are happy with....what are you hoping to achieve by stumbling into Mayors Boca wearing a Rolex? The salespeople there see Rolexes so often that is like a person wearing shoes walking into a shoe store..no big deal in the slightest.

Yeah, again NO. A** kissing is just more fake bullsh** . Just because I can buy doesn't mean I want my a** kissed. I am always sincere and I expect the same in return.

Oh, and I am a "commoner", albeit one with the ability to buy a watch or two.

Fair enough. I don't disagree that their is a considerable amount of unnecessary drivel when it comes to luxury watches...especially the whole "brand ambassador" nonsense.

I remember, back in its height of popularity, I wasn't allowed to even try on a Panerai at that Boca Mayors location because the brand ambassador wasn't there at the time and I essentially needed to be vetted as worthy of the brand....I loved it! So amazingly ridiculous. Rolex was fine, but Panerai needed vetting! Now they don't even have Panerai at that location. Ha!

Walked into the Aventura Mayors a few years ago to see if they could sell me the JC Deep Sea. My son said they “Pretty Womened” me. Guy looked me up and down, I was dressed for hot Florida weather, t shirt and shorts and he told me they can’t get them and walked away. We then went to a new Rolex boutique store in the Miami Design district, met a really nice sales guy named Omar, asked the same question about the JC, He said, if I pay in full, he will have it for me in 6 months. I received it in 7! Went back two years later, same deal for the new white dial ceramic Daytona. Took just under one year.

Take that Mayors nasty people...

That Rolex AD in the Miami Design District treats people just like the other AD's now a days. You will be disappointed if you go back now, sorry to say.

Hope you have been enjoying those great pieces you got brother!

We pass by there a lot and so no big deal and we only go in if we see the pompess ass who gave my family members a very bad experience. So they know the deal, and it's just personnel satisfaction. I know they don't give a crap(because they are pompess asses) which is easy to do while the good times roll but when the music stops playing they will look back on all the people they snubbed and wished a few of them would be walking in the door. And most likely they will be reminiscing about the good old days while they're on the unemployment line!

I'm sure they won't be. But we'll see who gets the last laugh. I've been in business long enough to know just because you're doing fantastic now doesn't mean you will be in the future. I know I'll be around when things get tough can't say the same for the pompess assess working in Mayors.
