I had no idea that Rolex was updating the movement until I saw the watch in the AD and began investigating it, but I’m really excited to have it. The blue seconds hand and “ Yacht Master” text looks identical to the 116622 model, and the only visible dial difference I can see is a small Rolex crown at the six o’clock position. My reason for posting is simply to say that this watch may ultimately become my favorite due to its overall look and feel. It reminds me of the Daytona in comfort, but the addition of the date function makes the YM more desirable to me. I’m not sure that I’ll ever need another watch again after this one...it’s may be my “Exit Watch.” I’m curious to know if others have had similar experiences with this watch.
No idea what you are talking about! ;)

I loved the YM reference as soon as I saw Jocke’s post with his red date wheel.
I read and read about the differences in the 16622
Fast forward to May of 2018, I picked up the Rhodium dial. A year later I had the 116655.

Just got mine. I LOVE IT. Have the BLRO, hulk, batman, and bluesy also and in the YM frankly looks more beautiful. Add to that that it wears more comfortably and is surprisingly bigger on the wrist than I though it would be (does the 126622 wear bigger than its predecessor?). I could see it becoming my favorite piece.

Anyone know if the lug angles are diff than the previous version? A blog to watch said something about refined angles.

Also the full bezel not just insert is platinum right?

Yes, the whole bezel and insert are solid 950 Pt. This is why Rolex call this model Rolesium, a combination of platinum parts and steel parts (case, bracelet). References 16622, 116622 and 126622 for the 40mm models.

I have the blue dial and the 116655 too - just picked up the latter a few weeks ago. Loving it!

I don’t think so. I got mine from an AD where I had no relationship. It was just a matter of letting them know of my interest in advance of one arriving.

It’s my favorite Rolex btw - or at least tied with the Pepsi GMT.

Oh ok that sounds good. I am currently saving for the rose gold Yact master on OF. I am a little over a year away from being ready so o should probably contact my AD.

Congrats! Stunning watch, hugely underrated too. Wish I could see the blue dial and rhodium side by side. Damn the lack of watches in ADs.

I just bought the blue 126622 after passing on the version the OP purchased four months prior. Both are absolutely beautiful and you can’t go wrong with either, I just fell in love with that blue and red. My opinion was the blue is more sporty and playful and the rhodium is more elegant. Since they both exude class, and I know I’ll get a different Rolex for elegance down the road, it was a no brainer for me since I preferred the blue dial anyways. I’ve heard some say the rhodium is feminine, but I only even remotely see that with the smaller 37 version. Just my two cents.

If you want to see a side-by-side, check out the video below beginning at the 2:09 mark. Here is a screenshot I stole from it and the link for the vid:

I have a blue 126622 incoming and this is one of the hardest time waiting on a watch since there is so little exposure. No meaningful youtube or type reviews if any meaning and very little discussion on the forums! I'm super excited though. The second hand value of the sub make this a steal!

I seer this one and there are a few of the 116622 but little to none of the 126622. The 126622 is somewhat elusive and way under appreciated at the moment. Just a matter of time before other get the 3235 but for now that is a a big deal.

I have 116622 blue dial and absolutely love it. Rhodium is also a beautiful piece. I guess the shortage of GMTs and Subs has benefitted the YM same as Exp2 which is a good thing. Buy and enjoy

They finally arrived. I had leather straps specially hand made and hand stitched for the 42.

This one is ostrich on the outside and lizard in the inside. Instantly makes the watch better. I’m on record as hating the Oysterflex. It blows! Mr Rolex, if you read this, you f’kd up with the cheap rubber strap on a marvel time piece in white gold. But no worries, I covered your a$$.
