Icon14 Yacht Master - 126622

Just picked up a brand new YM - Rhodium Gray dial, 40mm at my local AD, complete with the newer 3235 movement. Compared to the six digit submariners and GMTs, this sports watch is more comfortable on the wrist and a touch dressier, which I like at my workplace. I had no idea that Rolex was updating the movement until I saw the watch in the AD and began investigating it, but I’m really excited to have it. The blue seconds hand and “ Yacht Master” text looks identical to the 116622 model, and the only visible dial difference I can see is a small Rolex crown at the six o’clock position. My reason for posting is simply to say that this watch may ultimately become my favorite due to its overall look and feel. It reminds me of the Daytona in comfort, but the addition of the date function makes the YM more desirable to me. I’m not sure that I’ll ever need another watch again after this one...it’s may be my “Exit Watch.” I’m curious to know if others have had similar experiences with this watch.

Very cool, congratulations!

Here is mine:

It does wear very similar to the Daytona.

there is like a 3k price difference between the 126622 and 116622, is the new movement really worth such a gap in pricing?

Congradulations ! You picked a real winner. I never payed much attention to the YM series but now I’m hooked. For one, the old school feel of the case as compared to the more bulky cases of the subs and gmt’s. Secondly that bezel is amazing. I guess some don’t like ik but I think it’s very interesting visually and oozes class. Thirdly, it’s not the watch everybody will have which I like.

Beautiful piece. By far the one I wear the most, albeit with a different dial. Got mine (11662) almost 5 years ago.

I don't believe in exit watches. After the YM I bought several pieces including a SD43.

There'll always be something interesting that could potentially make you want to buy it. But don't worry about that, just enjoy what you've got.

It’s an awesome watch and my favorite Rolex. Very comfortable and the perfect fit. Gorgeous dial. Easy to read.

My YM is the 268622 and I love it. It gets 90% plus of my wrist time.

Gorgeous watch. I've thought a lot about adding that one over the Sub for my 2nd watch. Love reading the reviews, thanks for posting it.

I love the 116622 and 126622. As far as the price difference, is the 116622 even available as new anymore?

I don't think so, you need to go second hand, but as far as price goes for the 116622, you get a lot of watch for your money. Either the rhodium or blue dial are undervalued imo.

I have had both rhodium and switched to a blue dial. Now I wish I had back the rhodium. The blue has a bit sportier feel to it and the rhodium has a more toned down dressier feel. My opinion.

I trade my GMT master-14 to my AD and buy a 126622 10 days ago. oysterflex look stylish and super uber comfortable these rubbers with cushions are phenomenal. everose structure with black ceramic bezel is charming and contemporary. so far so happy. The look is so elegant , the wear is so comfortable but the shiny everose parts are very easy to scratchs so not an everyday watch though. Whereas I start missing my GMT because it was full metal everyday usability robust tool watch So I doubt if this will be a regretfull movement for me in the upcoming time but for now I relieve myself with my DJ 41 two tone for daily wear . This is another story up until now I am so in love with my YM that I never ever wear my DJ41 :)

Everose structure is Charming with black bezel it looks elegant and contemporary yet still a Rolex. The bad side of it is easy scratchs made me depressed and I doubt it will be a regretfull movement for me since GMT was a robust full metal toolwatch and its everyday usability anyhow I relieve myself that I can use my DJ41 two tone for everyday use. This is another story Since I get my YM I have never ever wear my DJ and afraid this will be my daily watch with full of scratchs at the end :)

has anyone seen the 126622 on the aftermarket and what prices those go for? I haven;t seen a resale. thus the prices of the 116622 have gone up. I bought rhodium 2 years ago for 8500 aftermarket now the 116622 are going for $10,000 preowned.
