I think it looks great too!

Out of curiousity, what year/serial is your 16710?

I personally think it looks great but if it bothers you, you can try looking into the new models (which have beefier cases). Or perhaps go straight to the DSSD, which wouldn't look small on any wrist.

If you have an 8” wrist, and you are more comfortable with larger case sizes, no shame in having the opinion that the Rolex GMT is too small for you.

I 100% agree with you. That model has a very small 30mm dial. If you view that watch from 12-18” away, it will look and wear very small on you — and your opinion is just as valid as the ones offered by the Rolex elites with 50 watches.

Moved my 16710 along for the same reason. Looked too small on my 7.75" wrist, almost dainty as much as I hate to say it.

Get yourself an SD43 and you will be much happier

The problem with all these online photos, especially taken from up close, is that the watches appears much larger compared to what our eye perceives them in person.

I once tried on the DJ 36 mm at the local AD and it felt like so tiny to the point I felt it was borrowed from an old granny, while reviewing it later on the photos it was the best fitting watch, even compared to 40 mm SS.

The watch OP posted look just about right in the photos, however in real life it could look much smaller.

I think the size is fine - just my opinion. But I am an old guy who when I bought my first Rolex in '84 it was a 36mm and that was BIG!

Looks perfect to me. How I wish a modern sports model would fit me like that.

My wrists are about 6.75, so I worry about watches bring too big.

I wouldn’t worry about too small though, I’ve read that many moons ago 34mm was worn by tough military guys.

It looks great on you.

I saw a skinny fella with tiny wrists recently wearing the BLNR. It looked ridiculous on him. It was almost like a little kid wearing his oversized clown watch.

Less is more when it comes to the size of your watch.

I have 9" wrists and love wearing my SubC and BLRN. When I wear my spectacular JC DSSD I ask my wife if it makes me look fat. Ha. Enjoy your incredible watch in good health!

That’s how watches are supposed to fit, inside of the wrist. Your not wearing a 26mm dj. That’s a very standard size for a men’s Rolex.

I think it looks great

I also have a five digit GMT and an 8” wrist and it’s the perfect size.

From the pic, it looks fine. But i get how it might bother you on the wrist. I have a 7.75 wrist, and got rid of a 5 digit sub for the same reason, but when i see me with it on in older pictures, it looked fine.

Too small is merely personal opinion, which can be heavily influenced by getting used to something else. When I wear my Panerai or SD43 for a few days, my sub feels dwarfed.

My opinion, which is worth exactly what you paid for it, is you have a large wrist but the watch looks fine. You would seriously regret parting with that watch!

I ask this same question to the Mrs every day!??!

OP it looks great on you however the simple fact that you're asking it seems as if you do feel it's too small?? Look for something that you'll be 100% satisfied with 100% of the time you have it on!!

Good luck with your decision!!

I think it looks good.

It's certainly looks much better than the guys with 6.25" wrists trying to wear a Submariner.

Wear it 24/7 for a month, and if you still feel it is too small, then move on.

I personally think it looks great on you. I wish my wrists were bigger or flatter, because I like when you are able to see a bit of bracelet either side of the watch head.

I guess if the lugs are not on the edge of the wrist or overhanging, it's considered too small these days?

That looks perfectly sized for your wrist. Why not give it a chance for a few weeks? If you've been wearing very large watches, the brain needs a chance to adjust. That watch is a substantial size, a large sports watch.
