The spring bars pivots on a through hole case are twice the length and half again as thick.

All things being equal, I'd go with the no holes case because the bracelet has solid end links.

Holes! Always holes! (Assuming condition is comparable). I really enjoy holes cases for ease of strap changes.

Yes. Strap changes. ..I never did get that Jubilee. So no holes and stick II. I am biased though.

I have both and prefer the holes case. Stronger, classic, and screams tool watch which is what Rolex used to make.

I believe the no holes had a shorter run and I’m biased!

Yeah but no holes screams last of the great GMTs. I sort of completely agree actually but I'm not buying another one!

Holes
They are stronger because the pins used have a larger diameter pin to engage the lug and the pin fits deeper into the lug hole. They also make it much easier to remove and install the bracelet. They also make it less likely to put scratches on the watch lugs. I really do not understand why some people do not like the look of them; to me they are not noticeable and make they no difference visually. I like the added security of them. They are not quite as good as screw bars or fixed bars but they are better than the non-drilled lug springbars.
Thankfully Seiko still has enough sense to use them on their sport watches. |

Case w holes, plus the chamfers are more pronounced with them as well.

Get the best condition you can find, regardless of holes.

I have 4 five-digit Rolexes. Three of them are K-serials with holes. ExpII is without holes.
Personally, I prefer the holes. But it's not a big deal, really.

I’ve owned both. I don’t think one stands out more then the other. They both have their charm. I ended up keeping the holes case but not specifically for the holes. I guess what I’m saying is if the watch otherwise is good then I wouldn’t hesitate one way or another.

I have holes and probably prefer no holes since I don’t plan on changing the bracelet but doesn’t really matter!

No big deal either way really. I prefer the Vatican City model though with the holy case. (Bad joke I get it...)
Like mentioned it’s no big deal, but I occasionally change the strap on one of mine and I really like how easy it is.
