Amazing how crud migrates deep into a movement, where there is often so little clearance between parts.
Now you [we] have some nice photo evidence just why a shattered crystal can be so compromising to a movement.

And I had no idea the amount of finishing in there.

Thanks for posting that link, nda.

Great video. It’s a good answer to those who balk at service centers when they insist on a movement service when it’s just only a cracked crystal.

Awesome video. Now I know why the service will be so much.

Great video! To be able to disassemble the movement and then reassemble it properly is such an impressive skill.

Makes me not want to have my watch serviced. Something will be downgraded due to the servicing process.

Very well done video, thanks for sharing the link!

I see now why this watch costs hundreds of dollars, it looks very complicated.

Super interesting, thanks for sharing! I’m be always been told that if you break the Crystal you should hack the movement to prevent those shards we saw in the movement from causing any more damage. Anyone else heard this? Common sense would seem to make me think that it’s a good idea but then again I’m not a watchmaker!

My SkyDweller just stopped working the other day. Dropped it at AD for repairs. Will see how that goes.
