Very cool video. I think there are just a few watch makers who can work on this movement.

Yes, it's certainly complex - along with a unique adjustment mechanism.

It was interesting to see how well finished the movement is - something owners will never see.

As an owner, I shall be curious to see how long servicing takes given the limited number of people capable of doing it. Not a problem to worry about for a few years yet.

Awesome. Unedlivable how much glass entered that deep into the movement.

Would be good to hear from some of the watchmakers on the forum about this. If you’re a watchmaker can do the more complicated sky dweller regardless, or do you need extra training to be able to do it?

Would this repair be covered while under warranty? Yes I’m assuming? If not, what would that service cost?

Also, anyone ever use that company before for repairs?

Great vid and in seeing this incredible complication in detail. Considering all the bits, decoration, etc, imho the SkyD is one of the best Rolex deals out there.

No the warranty is for manufacturing defects only. I don't think I've seen prices listed for a SkyDweller service, but a "standard" Rolex service on a Submariner would be ~ $5-600 if just a service if I'm not mistaken. Crystal would be extra. Since the SkyDweller is the most complicated Rolex movement currently in production I would imagine it would be far more expensive to service.

Base Sub service is $750 at RSC Dallas. Crystal $130 extra

Excellent video; thanks for sharing the link.

We don't need to wonder any longer about why these watches are so expensive.
