The VC is in another world in terms of quality and finish.
The Daytona is in another world in terms of popularity. Personally, there would be no question for me there and I would go the high horology route for its higher intrinsic value. But to be honest, I would not go with the chronograph and purchase a black dial dual time instead.

Also depends on your wrist size and overall build. These watches wear very differently. I have the Daytona on Oysterflex and a VCO Dual Time. I wear the Daytona for more dressy occasions and the VC for everything else.
