One thing to consider is how it feels with long sleeves, which I wear nearly year round given the climate. One aspect I appreciate about the 36mm pieces is how they don’t interfere with my sleeves or shirt cuff, especially when wearing a sweater. Also, I have the same size and shape wrist (6’-1” tall) so share your concerns about size, but it’s less of a concern when wearing with long sleeves IMHO.

Watch looks fine - if your wrist was more than 7", possibly it would look too small.

It's just a little small for your wrist. The former 39mm 214270 would be a better fit for you.
Personally, it sounds to me like you are making a concession regarding the size. I find that if something bothers you in the back of your mind, it will always bother you, why cope with it when you are spending so much money? No doubt that 36mm is a great, classic size and has its role in certain styles and wrist types. As a sports piece (especially on bracelet), the 124270 is a great option for someone with a small wrist. Paired to a larger-wristed individual, it loses its sports appeal and starts looking a little odd. Maybe would work better in a "classic" sense on a strap and elevating it more to a dress style. Anyway, I think your wrist specifically is borderline, upper range that this watch would go on. Any larger, and it just doesn't work. Same applies for a small wristed fellow trying to wear a 44mm deep sea. |

Why fight it? Too many watches and only one wrist. :-)
But, if you’re happy now, that’s all that matters. |

If you are happy and love it nothing else matters.
IMO the aesthetics look a bit off on a 7" wrist, my 39mm covers my wrist...each to their own. |

Trade for a 39mm. You shouldn’t have to talk yourself into digging an expensive watch. Also, people were shitting on the 36mm OP as a watch for men, now all of a sudden it’s the coolest thing…

Looks good.
Explorer in 36 will always be the understated watch with class. Great allrounder, and wears easily. If you want more attention to your wrist then you can go 39mm....whatever you want |

Looks amazing my wrist is 7 3/4 inch I wear loads of 35/36 mm watches.
Got a BB36, omega Seamaster 120m and an IWC mark xi all look fine in my eyes when I look at my wrist. I’ve just put my name down on the new Explorer 36mm and I’m so eager to get it on my wrist. Great choice. |

As long as the mental anguish is over, wear and enjoy. You shouldn't have to put up with that stuff every time you strap it on. If it persists, sell and get the 39!

I've been wearing 114270 36mm for the past 3 years non-stop, it become my only watch. The great versatility of 36mm sizing is unbeaten-able, even Rolex which never known to move back in sizing, did it and acknowledged the perfect size.
But in my opinion the newest 36mm sort-of feel smaller because the way bracelet sized. The move to 19mm from 20mm is significant IMHO. For example you get same/similar bracelet in Exp36 with GMT and Submariner not big differences in current line up. So in bias opinion, I think previous gen Exp36 is better in overall fit as it is more angular. |

If for a dress watch 36mm is fine, for a sport watch..........I have to say 39mm and above better.

Yes it might look small, It's built that way to large wrists... But one thing for sure is it's comfortable feel and appeal.
I have a big wrist too but I don't mind the size of the Explorer, I will wear it always. |

I am happy for you but 39-40mm is the sweet spot for most men. 36 is too small for most.

Explorer 36mm, GMT Master (original), Air King (original), Milgauss (original), IWC Mark XI, JLC Reverso, Omega Speedmaster moon watch (forget original reference). All now come in, or have come in, versions much larger than the original, and aren't really my taste. OTOH, a 40mm Panerai looks disproportionately small to me, since the originals were basically wrist-bound submarines... Quote:

It looks tiny on you, I'm sorry. Imo it's the watch that needs to fit the owner, not the other way around.
