I guess I'm really weird, I have a diver and code three hander on my list above any of the RO variants.

I hear you. The blue is amazing, albeit a bit traditional. I really like this gray because its like nothing else out there. Its very sophisticated and chic. The two tone really enhances the case architecture which is the best thing about the Code in my opinion. I cant really point my finger to it, but there is something special about this configuration.

Im seriously considering it.

I tried this one as well and its a stunner. I suppose its a bit more formal and a bit more versatile but there is something about that light gray that makes it more special than the rest i think.

Exactly this. The other problem is that its pricy for a 3 hander and does not hold much value. But i suppose its a heart over head decision.

Feels like a 2010's type watch collecting decision. I feel your dilemma. Does the luxury item give enough happiness for it's lofty price tag.

I might suggest waiting one more update cycle on the code before pulling the trigger just to see if anything else more meets your fancy on the Code line.

I knew I’d take a bath on mine but decided to go for it anyway. It’s a really versatile watch and although you pay for it, I love that it’s two toned with two different gold colors. I absolutely despise SS / Gold two toned

I’ve been lobby for a CODE openworked non tourbillon for awhile and am hopeful that something comes through soon on that front

Sound suggestion, thank you.

I have also been promised a Rolex Daytona meteorite on the Oysterflex by my AD so that adds another layer of complication. They are exactly the same price.

Yeah...that's exactly why I passed over the Code so many times earlier (not for meteorite, but always thought OF Daytona with precious metal was just a better buy happiness wise).

@Reign, that would be an interesting watch idea. Although I've sometimes feeling feeling the skeleton design being over done by other brands is cheapening the feel for skeleton generally from the likes of Piaget or GP, etc. So I'm always tempted to say, figure out the next iconic dial and give it to us on the code.

Yes it is pricey. They could have done it like what VC did with their fifty-six models to make it more accessible to the public, but I guess AP doesn't want that. I'm not sure how would I feel if i see too many people owning an AP watch.

Also, I have to emphasize that the finishing and amount of details on the code is really amazing compared to any watches in that price range. The amount of polished lines are amazing!

To me, the true crime on the Codes is marketing them on Croc straps. Sure, it should be an option, but that doesn’t show them off well.

Man that photo was good enough I had to go take a peek at what deal I could find on the secondary market.

This looks really good, The success of the Code could be in the range of straps on offer.

Code

Some of you know I bought my Purple Code HMS last year and never looked back. I know, the thing lost 35% or more of its value immediately. But, coming to a year and it is still a watch that makes it through the weekly wrist schedule. Love wearing it. This being my first new AP, I am hoping for additional pieces. I’d love the new ‘16202’ (or whatever AP plans to call the Jumbo next year, a ROOD (grey or green), and need their Chrono movement but don’t want another code unless the new reiteration under goes a big positive evolution. I did see that gorgeous ROO but at 43mm just seems too much but not sure.
