SS (and white gold or platinum) will likely have the least fluctuations in "trendiness" from a looks perspective.

I should have started a poll!

It seems as if yellow gold is considered classic. (Grandmas know best, right?)
Least trendy is oyster steel/white gold.

From what I'm gathering, it seems as if yellow gold is a classic.

White gold/oyster steel is the least trendy.
