That being said if I was to wear a Rolex in a sea of rolex why not wear your most “special” watch? It’s definitely not my most expensive watch but it definitely is the watch I would say would be the most “rare” to see in the wild.

I don’t understand what your point is. But ok. I was asking if you had to pick one which one would you pick. I said I would pick my DD40. My wife says if I only could have one watch she would chose the skyD blue for me. I do agree with you in that the DD is on another level. I could Say the same for the SkyD gold.

I have worn watches to VIP events from different manufacturers and they have always been very well received.

My GS is an SBGA387, so can argue that it is more "rare" than most Rolexes, including the blue SkyD and DD. Certainly not my most "special" watch but makes me happy when I put it on even if you would consider it a "lesser watch" to a Rolex. Hint: it's not.

I get it. That’s cool. Can you post a pic of your GS? I have been thinking of adding a peacock to my collection.

Both.

I would be buying them from my AD at MSRP and waiting patiently. If I couldn't get them from my AD I wouldn't bother. Lots of other nice things to spend that kind of money on.

Owned the SkyD but found it too large for me. I'd love to own a DD40. One of the few Rolex still on my horizon.

DD40 is the PERFECT size for any man.

SkyD is a big watch and also a thick watch.

The DD is the flagship Rolex…but the Sky-Dweller is unique in that it has a GMT and AC. If you travel it’s probably the better buy as long as you are OK with it’s size. If I had to choose one it would be a Sky-Dweller but a DD is high on my list.

Even as massive SkyD fan if we are comparing a SS SkyD to a DD I'm going DD ALL DAY LONG

This was kind of my point of the post. With the prices inching closer and closer I’m sure that will become a possibility at some point.

If secondary market valuation is not considered, DD40 is the one.

Personally, even if secondary market valuation is considered, I would choose DD40 over any SS watches including Daytona.

Day-Date is way more iconic than Sky-Dweller in my opinion.

I like the size of my SD43 as my wrist is ~8.25". To me, my DD40 looks a little small on my wrist but I would vote for it over the skydweller every time.

DD or Sky D

I've been lucky enough to have both 2 Blue Dial Sky D(Oyster and Jubilee) and 2 YG DD40 with different dials. Both are so different and if one can manage to own both, I would say do so. I daily my Sky D and use my DD40 to wear at home lol or when out for occasions.

I agree also a huge sky d fan.

All that premium just for a blue dial when you could have a day date is a no for me - also the day date can be altered in whichever metal you prefer and loads of options for dials : example

DD Vs Sky D

Here's my other pic. I prefer the Sky D with Jubilee over the oyster

I picked up my blue SkyD yesterday.
I also have RG DD Olive.

I don't have a YG DD, but if I have to choose between one of them, I'd always go for the PM watch and what better PM watch than a DD40.

SkyD Blue or DD40

DD40 no doubt, but it would have to be a specific dial (black motif with lume indices).

There are so many variables in play...such as, which one fits you better - actual fit as well as your lifestyle, what else is in the collection, etc.

In a strict one on one matchup, disregarding all the variables, I would take the DD, if, as you say, the price was comparable. However, to be fair, I don't see that happening when I look at DD's these days.

Both are equally impressive. Size and how they wear on you is really gonna be the most determining factor.
