Wow! Congrats. Outside of the Daytona, this has to be the hardest to acquire! I had some early success in 2019, but I think my luck has run out.

I bet that’s why it was there.

Congrats anyway but I would pass if it were me
This watch is in high demand. To get it at retail as the OP did is really a big surprise and a big deal. Whether you like Oyster or Jubilee should really be of no concern to the incoming for OP.

Congrats!

It's such a shame however that one has to go through all of this just to purchase a watch.

Thank you all. Since this is my first modern GMT. Need help centering the clasp. This is how it comfortably sits right now. Would it help if I move one link from 6 o’clock to 12 or it would move it too much to the right? How does your clasp center on your wrists? 7.25 inches here.

Congrats!

Some clarity will help with expectations..

Was this an independent or chain?

Small affluent town or Big Cosmopolitan city?

Congrats! Amazing story. You must have really clicked with the AD and stories like this is what it’s all about. Congrats on the milestone. Was this in Los Angeles? ADs out here absolutely have various pieces in their vaults waiting to be allocated — I’ve been told this by a sales associate. And I truly believe they have very nice references stowed away for the right client and time.

Thanks. I’m in the SF Bay Area. I wasn’t expecting to walk out with anything today as they had nothing but exhibition watches. Having numerous pieces in their vault waiting for allocation makes total sense.

I reacted this way as mentioned as I have reunited somewhat with a Pepsi that was always meant something for me. My first watch ever was a 16700 that I wore for 20+ years no matter what I was doing. Sold it back in 2019 and regret it so much. Today made me reunite with my one and only :) Here is a picture to share..

It was meant to be that you were able to pick up another one! Wear it in good health. I have it on oyster as well and it is a special piece for sure.

Great story! Enjoy it!

There are watches in the store. For some of us. And none for some of us.

Thanks! Thank you all for your warm welcomes. Much different here than WUS. I l posted it there and one even asked if I was good looking and promised something in return to acquire the watch lol.

Another made a huge deal that I teared up, now the conversation with another led to metal balls hanging on a truck or something.

Yet another post asked me to share a picture of my wife, which could have helped me to get a Pepsi.

Gotta love TRF!

So I can not have different opinion ? Or I cannot publicly express a different opinion? Or I have to love oyster?

I’m really puzzled by a bunch in the form sometime
Weird because it’s in poor form IMO.

The OP didn’t ask you to give your opinion on the watch, and by default you poo poo his incoming with your unsolicited opinion.

IMHO when someone posts an incoming you congratulate them on the watch wholeheartedly, or you don’t comment at all.

So basically you walked into that shop with a saddle and a harness and asked, "You got any unicorns back there?"

Congrats!!!

Love stories like this.

This coming from a guy who asked the forum if it was stupid to pass on a GRNR, or the white gold BLRO which comes on... OYSTER.

10000% you would have bought the watch if offered.

Best of luck on your hunt!

He's the same guy who has a thread where he says he is always offered something 'special' from the safe in 3 or 4 ADs in Ontario if he pops in.....yet none of those ADs can actually get him anything he wants.
