You never know when you will drop it, lose it, wife chucks it out the window or something. No hassle, just make a claim and watch is covered.
I use USAA also..

John did you insure them under home insurance or a completely different type of insurance? I ask because we don't have many choices (or rather no choices!) down under and it is hard finding anything other than home content insurance.

No I don't insure it. My hidden safe does the job for me.

Had them on my Homeowner's Policy for years but switched to Jewelers Mutual as I don't want my Homeowner's rates to increase due to a jewelry claim... JM has been wonderful to work with even for a veteran flipper for me, I must drive them crazy

Doesn't do much good if it's broken.

They gave me a discount ,it was quoted for 1000 dollars but got it down to 600,its covers all lost or stolen with no deducible on the policy which is a rider on it.
I figured i better do it just in case, i will sent in all appraisals to activate it.It better to be safe and do this ,any one else doing this.

No. Crime here where I live is virtually non-existent. However, I DO worry about the watch falling off or simply losing it somehow, so it's definitely something worthwhile to consider.

I ways wear my GMT master which was a gift from my brother. It is insured by Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson...as I have a concealed carry permit... Now..if I had a second Rolex, it would be stashed inside my 350 lb gun safe which is bolted to the floor of my home.. but I would STILL have a rider on my insurance, as I do for my wife's jewelry. I don't pay anything close to 1000 for that rider, but again, it's for her jewelry, not for a Rolex.

I find a lot points interesting and valid but somevare just as absurd, I also have a concealed weapons permit but that does not do any good when you travel. I travel often both domestically & internationally and knowing that they are protected let's me enjoy them.

I'm actually looking for a policy myself, I called my homeowner's insurance and they said it would be about $12/year for every $1,000 of the appraisal value, have to do some more research to find out if it's a good deal or not
