I can't say that my Daytona is a daily wear but certainly a part of the rotation.

Every day that I'm off, and when I come home from work I put it on, it's a sports watch that is meant to be worn, it's also amazing!!!

Wearing it now, with my 3-yr old aspiring cook watching Giada on TV. Daily wearer except days I force myself to wear one of my other four watches (pared down the 20-watch collection to land the Daytona).

My one gets rotated between 3 other watches, the Daytona comes out on those special feel good days as it really is a great watch.

My question is why wouldn't you?

It's a great watch and if it brings you to a special place when you wear it - why not enjoy it daily??

I wear my watches daily. Just not to sleep.

Wear, wear, wear!!!

I typically wear a 5513 or 16750 to the office - (16750 up for sale) and now wonder if the Daytona - with it's beautiful finish, polish and upscale look is a primary or most every day wear.
Where does the Daytona fall in your rotation?
  • primary wear (goes with office attire and jeans)
  • occasional wear
  • pulled out only on special occasions
I agree. All Rolex watches are daily wearers IMO.

It is a primary wearer. I wear the office and with jeans. It is truly a versatile watch. It can be sporty or dressy.

I've owned the SS Daytona on and off... currently having the 116520 black dial.

While I don't wear it daily, it's still a nice watch to have in the collection. Hardly ever wear the Daytona at work, though, since I prefer having a date feature on my watch at work.

Mine was daily wear for over 12 years, until I got my Speedmaster. Now, the Daytona has fallen to # 4 on the rotation behind the GMT and TT OQ.

For myself, IF it had a date function, absolutely... Since it doesn't, it gets snapped on when I go out and don't care what the date is.

...and, YES, it's definitely a daily wearer. I wear mine 24/7, even when I sleep or during "other activities" on the bed... Only time I take it off is when I'm in the shower.

And even though it's gold, and it'll scratch easier than SS, I don't care. It's meant to be worn! I have tools to do my own buffing (since I do jewelry making as a side biz), so if it ever gets too scratched up I could always refinish it myself.

But it would take years of scratches before I'd bother me though. My old RG DD came with a lot of scratches when I bought it from the AD since it was NOS - so I refinished it once myself just so I'd look brand spanking new. Right before I sold it three years later, the amount of scratching wasn't that bad - and I wore that watch through EVERYTHING - even scuba diving a few times. So I'm guessing 10 years of wear and tear would be my breaking point.

Most people think gold scratches worse than SS - not entirely true IMO. Yes, gold does scratch EASIER, but the kind of scratches you get are just a ton of hairlines. With SS, it's much harder to scratch, but for some reason unknown to me, the kind of scratches you get are deep scratches mixed in with a few hairlines. I could never figure this out. My old TT DJ, which I only wore for about a year before getting my old DD, had much fewer scratches (on the SS parts) than my DD, but the type of scratches were pretty nasty - a few really deep scratches mixed in with some normal scratches and a few hairlines. How come the gold one didn't get any deep scratches or normal scratches, but got only hairlines?
