Is The Daytona A Daily Wear Watch?

Hi All - today is day 1 with my new (K serial) white dial Daytona. Pics this weekend
I typically wear a 5513 or 16750 to the office - (16750 up for sale) and now wonder if the Daytona - with it's beautiful finish, polish and upscale look is a primary or most every day wear.
Where does the Daytona fall in your rotation?
  • primary wear (goes with office attire and jeans)
  • occasional wear
  • pulled out only on special occasions

I don't own a daytona, but I had a chance to use one for a few days & found myself wearing it daily. The only that might stop some people wearing it daily is the polished lugs & pcl's

Imo watches are to be worn, I never worry about swirlies, scratches, ect... gives the watch character.

I enjoy my SS Daytona daily and have to force myself to rotate with my other watches.

Primary wear.

I opted for special occasions only with mine due to the PCL's & lack of a date but it could easily be a primary & is for many.

IMO, it's a shame to spend Daytona money and not consider it an all purpose (except diving) watch. However, all the polished surfaces and a movement with lots of extra parts make it a bit more prone to problems than a Sub, and it definitely looks dressier. I guess it depends on your "daily" activities.

I have a couple of other watches, so I tend to wear this one on special occasions.

Great feedback - as always!

I always over look at my watches when I already know the time - but with the Daytona - at almost 1 full day on my wrist - my neck is getting stiff as I am glancing to the wrist ALOT

The screw down pushers are so cool - I can't stop playing with them - thankfully the crown is sub size and not GMT size - the movement winds smooth as silk - I could go on and on - I guess I am liking it

Yes, it's a daily wear watch unless you have a "hazardous" job which would put that or any high end watch in danger of damage.

if you have the money to blow on a 13k 15k watch, you would not think if its an everyday watch. price wont matter... you got money to BLOW... wear it....
