Just the bands go in for me. Mine is very similar to the one pictured with a 'watch bridge'. Not sure I'd use that as the movement is still being vibrated even if it isn't submerged.

My uncle has worn his Day date everyday for about 19 years. It was really messy (see pics)
When I put it in the ultrasonic cleaner for 15 minutes, it cam out like new! They also provide you with a gold cleaning cloth. I'd recommend it! |

If you sweat, or have eaten garlic, or famunda cheese is growing, you need to do a through cleaning.. most people ooze a lot of acidic enzymes and skin defoliants.. all these eat into the tiniest crevices of your watch. you can take that floating debris from your ultra sonic bath and grow live active cultures, much like Greek yogurt cultures in a petri dish.
Its true ! look it up. Bill aka ET |

Interesting. It appears to have refinished the bracelet and lugs for good measure.

Exactly my thoughts. Bracelet only for me. I do not use the bridge as I always remove the watch head.

So I ran out and got an ultrasonic cleaner off amazon along with a bottle of Blitz. Cleaned jubilee and oyster bracelets last night. Great results, although more striking on the jubilee since there are more surfaces to get clean. Going to clean my pepsi bezel tonite.

You guys are all a bunch of anal-retentive freaks.
That said, I just ordered my own US cleaner. Thanks!

One thing I think I noticed: a super-clean bracelet will show scratches differently than a dirty one. All the microdirt gets out of the scratches. They show differently.

Wow, great results. Time to pick one up.
Question: Does the bracelet need to be oiled/greased or anything like this after sitting in the Ultrasonic machine? Does rolex treat the steel with any kind of oil or something to prevent corrosion that this could be removing? Just curious. thanks |

If only I had the courage to put tools on my watch myself, I'd be doing this every month. I don't want my watch head anywhere near the vibrator. I need to start doing DIY tasks.

You could also look into the tweezers type tool that make it even easier. ...or just revert back to the good 'ol lug holes! |
