Ultrasonic results revealed...

Here is the water and grime left over from the ultrasonic bath. I had my sub bracelet in for about an hour with warm water and a drop of dish soap.

I clean my watch with varaet (and toothbrush) usually every 2-3 weeks. I don't always wear it in the shower. Only after when I've worn the watch during a workout.

I sit at a desk during the the week and might wear the watch during workouts (twice a week if I'm lucky).

So the verdict is - all other types of cleaning = inferior results.

An hour? Wow, I thought you were only supposed to leave them in for five minutes. Maybe that's why my results were less fruitful.

I do 2 hours. My ultra runs 30 min cycles. Results are drastically different the longer you leave it in. I do one hour each side, flip, then repeat.

Interesting. Sadly, mine has a timer that limits it to 5 minutes max, so would need to be supervised. I think its only 30 watts, too, which seems low.

I don't think it matters. Most of that gunk in the OP pic is what was inside the link holes and attached to the pins. You can use a baby toothbrush and Varaet every day and not get this stuff.

I too suffered from short times and found this beauty on the bay. The price has increased by $20 since my purchase last year, however, the seller is top notch, and it's built like a tank, to last many many years.

I thought the exact same thing, LOL. I had to check the dimensions because it looked like it was about the size of a microwave.

LOL. it's perfect for about 3 bracelets lying on their sides, maybe four. In all, it's great machine, and great seller. He has pretty fast communication and ships ASAP. He thought I owned a shop because I told him what I wanted to do with it. The only reason I add already hot water is for longevity of the device. After each 30 min cycle I let it rest for about 10 or so minutes. I use it monthly so it should last a long time.

An hour, holy smokes. Mine maxes out at 7 mins. I thought that would be enough. I did mine and my wife's last night, turned out really nice.

I wash in the shower every other day and use the foo foo spray once a week.

Laszlo, did you have to say Pudding?

US cleaning on the bracelet for 30 minutes does the job for me (2-4 times a year).

Exactly. I used to wash/rinse my watch almost every day and still found this gunk in the water when I did the US ~2x/year.

Interesting results. I've been considering getting one of these for my bracelet (+ the wife will love it for her rings).

So in regards to bracelet stretch - I've heard it's caused from dirt/grime getting into the bracelet which causes it to stretch out. I've also been told to just clean it regularly to minimize the chances of stretch. I've always cleaned mine with a toothbrush and soap, I assume the ultra sonic cleaner will be that much better for bracelet stretch reduction since it cleans more of the gunk out?

Or for it to make a difference (vs toothbrush cleaning), would I really need to take each link of the bracelet apart and put it in the ultrasonic cleaner?

Expert information appreciated in advance!

Without a US bath getting the crapola out from inside the link holes the normal sink washing won't prevent bracelet stretch. Ultrasonic will get most everything out so you don't have to disassemble the bracelet. I'm not sure if the RSC even takes the bracelet apart when they dunk it during service. Maybe they do but I'm not sure. When they polish the bracelet I doubt they polish each link separately.

Good question. Best can be described officially, as grime or gunk (or a combination of the above).

I like to think of myself as a clean person.

FWIW, I shower twice a day.

For anyone to think you're a "dirty person" because of that is absolutely crazy. All that grime and gunk will build up over time in ANYONES watch... deadskin, dust, lotions, soaps, hair, etc... It just happens and is totally understandable.

I'm looking forward to getting one of these ultra sonic cleaners, I can't wait to clean my bracelet!

Interesting big boy toy for watches. Something to replace the now unused winders I purchased. How often are these actually used?
