$5,600 can net you a BNIB Datejust II. That's exactly what I did a few weeks back and could not be happier about it...

214270 for that price.

My old boss was telling me the other day that a friend of his picked up a 214270 as a golf watch. He ended up loving it so much that he wears it 24/7 and his other watches (a white dialed Patek 5980 and a Patek aquanaut world time) haven't been worn in months.

A $5k watch that can knock two Pateks out of rotation can't be too bad!

If you have to ask a group of complete strangers how to spend 5K I would save your money until you find something that sings to you.

I have considered 1990's GMT's and also Sea dwellers usually without papers for around $5000. If the price was right I have considers new style datejusts which I've seen for low $4000's with papers in stainless. So far my number one choice is a Milgauss "M" serial number with card, no box for $4750! It is not the green, it has a black dial and is in great condition. I guess if your going to have a problem, finding the right Rolex is a nice one to have.....any suggestions?
I know you gotten a considerable amount of feedback, but Milgauss, 16570 (Polar, get the black if your going for the 216570), Exp 39MM or SubC for a little more, I'd really lean towards the SubC. It's the best bracelet of the bunch, by far. Newer tech, great presence on the wrist! You really can't go wrong. Good luck!

16700, 16710, or 14060 would be my choices.

Sub 14060M
You will never want to sell it is the reason. Just add to it with a other Rolex!
That is what I did. Working on number three now!

If you only plan on owning one, go with the new explorer. If you plan to go with more than 1 eventually? Go sub. 4 line no date with holes.

I'd suggest the DJ2 116300, Explorer 39, new OP 39, or a used GMTc nonBLNR in that order, but I'm not a fan of the 5 digit models. Maybe a real nice 14060m or a Tudor Big Block if you like the older models.

do you want a sports watch or more versatility?

personally, i would be sorely tempted by a new 39mm OP.

Just make sure that Diet Coke is poured into a glass first.

Agree on the SubC being a "can't go wrong" decision for that money.

Everyone has a sub, but a discontinued Milguass is something different. I always had friends admiring mine when I had one.
Very comfortable on my 8" wrist

I recently bought a new white Milgauss from DavidSW for not much more than that. I highly recommend it. Whatever you decide, I would reach out to David. He is the the best!

Why not get a used ceramic no date Sub at that price point?
