So in ten years, you'll have a watch that looks ten years old with a bracelet that looks six months old. That's not going to look at all odd, is it?

Sorry mate, but it's ghastly and you know it. If that was a woman, I'd need fifteen pints in me to talk to her. In fact, that combo is so frightening it could haunt houses.

Let's be honest here, you're not serious are you? You're bored with nothing better to do and you've cobbled that up as a bit of a giggle just to provoke a reaction on here. B/S I'm afraid

Sorry but that color strap just clashes with the watch, a brown or black leather or crocodile strap would be so much better.

Must admit, that really is not my cup of Tea but if you like it, that's the important part!

I would have stuck it on an all black Nato and think that would look a bit more appropriate for a gold watch. :)

I thinks it's the colour scheme you've used more than anything that doesn't work here. A black nato would probably be better if your determined to use a nato. A Brown leather strap would work well.......anyway who cares if your happy go with it

Isn't that the same as saying why get a bracelet repair on a old watch?

I don't think it works. Certainly not for me. The Nato makes sense for a dive or sport watch; in this case it's a $10 strap on a $10,000 watch. The real question for me is why?

Leave the man alone you obnoxious thug. He has done nothing more than change to a Nato, an action that he can reverse in a couple of minutes. To 99% of the worlds population, this is a complete non event and yet you chose to address him in vituperative tones which is fully unwarranted.

Shame be upon you.

OP, how do YOU think it looks? Maybe let someone else you trust put it on so you can see how it looks. I don't like it but it's not for my wrist. Other than black or brown, I think a solid color nato, maybe gold-colored, would look better.

The OP posted nothing controversial (would a random member of the public get furious seeing that watch..?) rather several readers decided to interpret it controversially which is entertaining to read.

The only thing worse is putting a solid gold bracelet on a M Kors or some such plated fashion watch.

Do what you'd like but I don't get the point of avoiding enjoying what you have because you are concerned about resale and the next owner. Bracelet stretch can be fixed without having to buy a new bracelet.

It's like people who buy certain colors of cars just because the resale value is better--get what you want not what the next owner does.

I say get and do what you want and enjoy what you have to the fullest. Don't be concerned about resale value or the enjoyment of the next person.

As others have mentioned, a nice leather strap would go farther in terms of overall presentation. Alligator often looks good with a gold case.

This multi-colored NATO tends to cheapen the appearance of your watch IMO but in the end, you're the one who's wearing it.

I do think the NATO makes it look a little cheap and I agree with other members, leather might work better. However, its your watch and all that matters is whether you like it or not!

I've had a DJ on Jubilee bracelet that was worn every day from 1985 to the end of 2016 and it's fine, although somewhat stretched. If I ever cared enough, I could send it to that guy in Hong Kong and have it rejuvenated. Doing that once every 30+ years would be preferable to detracting from the look of the watch in order to save it for future generations.

But if you enjoy this look, that's all that matters. I'd uninsure it though, as most thieves would assume it's a fake and not bother taking it.
Sound advice

Repairing a bracelet on an old watch would not necessarily give the appearance where one is significantly older than the other.

Obnoxious? What have I said that is extremely unpleasant?

Thug? Have I threatened or indicated any form of violence would or should be administered to the OP?

Vituperative? So a tongue-in-cheek post is now angry and abusive?

As an absolute minimum, I think I'm owed an owed an explanation here.
