The gold wedding ring trumps anything on my wrist. Such rings always gets a free pass and certainly not expected to match your watch.

OP, I'd encourage you to buy something that matches your ring down the road, cause... why not!? lol. Get something gold just cause it's fun. But I would have no reservations about wearing that gold ring with a SS watch. You're good to go IMO

Love the ink btw!

i dont think you need to match the ring and the watch to be honest. If it does bother you that much, I would look to get a TT sub or gold day date.

I had the same issue and wound up switching out my gold wedding ring band for a cobalt chrome ring and have been very happy with it. To my eyes it looks much better when they are matched but to each his own.

I wear my gold wedding ring proudly with what ever watch I want. I personally find wearing it with a gold watch is more distracting than with a white colored watch. The ring was my father's. He died before I was married so my mother gave it to my then fiance to give to me for our wedding. Its got both sets of wedding dates engrave inside it. I believe that people have been wearing gold rings with whatever watch they want for a very long time.

A professional jeweler can dip your gold ring and produce white gold. You keep the ring and it’s sentimental value with the only change being white gold instead of yellow.

Doesn't your partner normally buy your wedding band? How did dad producing your ring come into the equation?

No issue with this at all. I wear yellow gold wedding ring and steel Rolex. Don’t over think things.

He wanted to pass it to me so I can pass it down to my grandson etc.

This is a great idea! Only issue I have heard with dipping is it tends to wear off quickly and you have to get it done again and again. Any truth to this?

Here is a pic of my cobalt chrome ring with DJII. I just think it works better than mismatched metals

Rings and watches do not need to be the same metal/color. Wedding rings especially do not need to match. The sentimental value is priceless.

That's why you get a two-tone. It fits with both yellow gold and white gold/platinum.)

Just kidding. Usually I am particular about mismatched jewelry, but not when it comes to wedding rings, crosses (or other religious necklaces) and chains those crosses are on. Commitment to significant other and religion is out of the question.

And congratulations!

Got married. Gold ring with SS watch, anyone else?

First if all... Congratulations on the marriage, new gold ring and enduring the pain to get the killer ink work done! The YG and SS mix-n-match is fine. Just feels different as you haven't done it before. You'll get used to it!

PS- I wore YG/DD and YG ring for my wedding.

Congrats. I go along with the majority of the replies. Nothing wrong with Gold and SS together. I wear a gold wedding ring and a SS Datejust w/jubilee and I think they look great!! It really doesn't matter what others say, it's truly your call. But as you saw with these replies, there are many others who enjoy the Gold and SS together. Enjoy

Congrats! And what a wonderful gift from your dad! I’d wear it a while and see how you feel in a year or so. It’s ok to have 2 different color metals. If you decide you want to change up, you can grab a band down the road. Just don’t over think it. That’s my problem. Overthinking stuff. Wear it. If you like it, keep on.... if you feel like changing it out, you will have a keepsake to store with your other watches.

On my side, I wear a WG ring and WG or SS watches with a SS buckle, etc. to match. But I’m a little OCD - and some other things which I can’t pronounce.

I don't think a wedding ring ever clashes. It is something you normally always have on and being a wedding ring no one is going to think of it clashing because the wedding ring doesn't change and no one should limit their watch to matching their wedding ring.

First - congratulations!

As for the ring, I think it looks just fine. I wear a gold wedding band on my left hand and my gold Aggie ring on my right hand. I have zero concerns about wearing a SS watch.

Wear the ring & the watch in good health.

It’s gold. Whenever I look down I feel like it clashes with a SS watch. Does anyone else rock a gold wedding band / SS piece?

Maybe I’m just not used to it yet, but like the look of it way better without the watch on.

(Maybe its time to upgrade to PM lol)

P.s please leave out the negative comments about the ink lol

So about that ink....red looks good with your skin tone. That positive enough for ya?

Congrats on getting married! Happiness, Life and prosperity for you both.

It does clash terribly though, I'd recommend you wear it on your right hand, and get another to properly pair with your watches.
