Got married. Gold ring with SS watch, anyone else?
Just got married yesterday.
My dad decided to give me his ring because he can’t wear it anymore due to a skin condition and figures it would be more sentimental than buying my own (I agreed) It’s gold. Whenever I look down I feel like it clashes with a SS watch. Does anyone else rock a gold wedding band / SS piece? Maybe I’m just not used to it yet, but like the look of it way better without the watch on. (Maybe its time to upgrade to PM lol) P.s please leave out the negative comments about the ink lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a gold wedding ring.
Often I will just flip it onto the right hand when wearing a SS watch. Even when wearing my gold watch.. it feels I dunno unbalanced to have both watch / ring on the same hand but I didn't grow up wearing rings or a lot of jewelry so I dunno. Just one possible solution :)

The ring is just a wedding band in terms of its size and presence I wouldn't sweat it at all. Obviously the sentiment with it is huge so doing anything else would be a non-starter. That said, I'm a sucker for PM and think a black dialed gold sub or GMT would look badass on your wrist so I encourage that.

I wear a gold wedding ring on my left but wear my SS sub on the right. I just flipped the watch over to the left to see what it looks like - I can safely say I would take zero issue with that.
Silver and gold metals are being combined in watches and jewellery all the time (No doubt you’ll have noticed the trend in two-tone watches recently, whether you like it or not) Also, you’ve got a lot going on on your wrist with the ink, so I’m surprised you’re seeing a clash with your ring. Congrats on getting married, enjoy the uniqueness of having your dad’s ring to wear in combo with your watch, it makes for a nice little touch. Ben |

Before i use to have yellow gold, (bracelet) but latter converted to anything white, realized that I don’t have yellow toned watch.
In my opinion i looked liked doofus wearing a white (SS) toned watch, then my other jewelry is yellow. I think because of my skin tone. On my wedding i opted for platinum marriage band, works perfectly with my SS watch.

I think, you as a tattoo lover must understand that this combination, the steel Pepsi watch and the gold ring bring some nice contrast and that it looks more special than a gold ring, gold watch and a pair of scarry loafer shoes congratz bro |

Grab a Tungsten ring for about $30, it never scratches. Keep that one in the safe.

The watch looks great no matter the color of the ring. I would not change it, if in your position. Best of luck and congrats on the wedding. Cheers, Tim

It annoys me- that’s why I’m glad I have two rings! I think it clashes and it annoys me as well!

Congrats on the wedding Andre. It looks fine. I wear a gold wedding band with my SS subs and think it actually provides a nice contrast.
Pepsi looks fantastic with the ink by the way. |

What do you like? Yellow or white gold? I like white gold that's why my wedding ring is white gold but if you like the yellow gold is Ok. Wear it like that if you like the combination. You wear your things for you not for everyone else, like your tattoos. If you are like me that like white jewelry then you have a reason to get your own white gold or platinum, or titanium ring. Congrats!

You could also have the ring Rhodium dipped to make it white if its a huge issue?
Personally, I would enjoy the sentimental contrast. |

I think it looks fine. It’s a common combo -as watch and gold band.

I like the ink. Certainly don't mean this as a negative comment but there is so much going on visually in your arm, hand, watch area that a gold ring doesn't make much difference in my opinion.

OP, the ring is your legacy. Wear it in good health and enjoy with whatever color wrist weapons you like.

What's the matter, gold and steel works fine together. Why do you think they make two tone watches.....

When I got married, way back in 1989 (when dinosaurs roamed the earth), my only watch was a Blue Tudor Prince Oysterdate Submariner Snowflake. Wore that with the gold wedding ring for years. Was never any consideration of being "proper". First World Problem, without doubt.
My only regret is selling that watch in the early 90s, after being laid off from my job. Wish I had it now. To wear not to sell. |
