Why Do We Mix Rolex and Tudor Here?

OK...I give.

Two sections:
One Tulex
Other Rodor

Anything favors in either section.

Let it be So...Thus Spake Zarathustra
The eternal reoccurrence of the same.

I don't understand the anger. I love things about both. Nothing wrong with the suggestion that separate forums exist since they are marketed under different brands. Also nothing wrong with the opinion that they remain as one. Relax, life is too short! we are all one big family of watch geeks

Riiight.. and the new Supra is not a BMW.

John Mayer had something in his worn and wound review of the black bay when he said Tudor is the Tyler Durden of Rolex.

It appears as if the OP is eager to enforce rule #1.

It doesn’t bother me. Both good watches and in my mind Tudor is a “fork” of Rolex.

We need the Tudor posts amongst the Rolex ones. Without them every other post would be:

Should I get the Hulk or the Pepsi?/Does this new Rolex I just got make my bottom look big?/What brand of hand moisturiser are you wearing with your Rolex today?/Can people please stop using a female nickname for the new Batman [sob]/What model will be a better investment/Does my watch need to match my other jewellery, so I can look like a real princess?

Anyone with a genuine interest in watches and not just in the brand “Rolex” for silly snobbish one upmanship reasons likes reading both threads together and we also like interesting talk about vintage watches and other brands. Many of us hope to put off the Rolex/fashion/investment brand whores who have descended on our once much more interesting forum.

Typically the people who bash Tudor for no reason just out of the blue have never even bothered investigating the watches themselves. There was some other member who got banned a while back who bashed Tudor non-stop while admitting he'd never checked out any of their watches. This type of person sure doesn't seem like a watch enthusiast, just a status hound who wants the latest shiny thing that they can brag about at the club.

I haven’t mulled over this alleged problem previously, but assuming some hypothetical split were to take place, where would we file the “should I get the sub or the black bay” or Pepsi vs Pepsi threads? Sounds like a headache, creating rules for such things.

Each entity is owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation and there are a lot of us who like and appreciate (and own) both, so I’m personally ambivalent about the idea

Why does asking for a separate Tudor automatically turn into bashing the brand?? I find it interesting to see the resistance/stubborness to keep them together as if no one would view the Tudor section if it was all by its lonesome. I would argue that Tudor deserves its own section, regardless of its history with Rolex.

Nothing wrong with that - that’s your choice, but you are missing out IMO. Diversity in watches is great. I love Rolex, but also love tudor, omega, breitling and seiko. Great fun exploring the different brands.

Yeah, but when you want to flash something around to impress your bros, only Rolex will do.

Myself included. Have zero interest in Tudor. In fact when I bought my first Rolex in the early 90's, did not even know what Tudor was.

Ever heard of the ROLEX 24 hours at DAYTONA car race?

I don't see the word TUDOR in there, and likely never will be.

So a watch is about name value then?

With Rolex scarcity Tudor in the forum is becoming more and more popular, this is true, we are also learning more about the brand. I have to admit that a couple of years ago not even surfing in his website, and last March I bought a Black Bay Rose.........

I am astounded you are still allowed to be on this forum with comments like that. If I said that at my place of work I would get a final written warning!

I think its fun mixed in...brings a little nice dynamic shift to the generally same old "daytona premium" and "value" threads that seem so common today with Rolex anyways ;)
