Green [sunburst] dial? No other steel professionals with green dial in the current line up and it is the anniversary colour

I’ve no idea what would be likely, but what I’d like to see is a Matt dial and original marker layout and keep the gmt hand the same. It’ll never happen, of course...

Mock-up looks like a Tag to me not a rolex. The current exp2 in polar is absolutely stunning and needs no upgrade / adjustment other than possibly increased power reserve like the GMT. Keep as it is I say but if they did do a limited special anniversary piece I’d say do a polar with blue crystal glass and brushed platinum case and bracelet. Which will never happen

If Rolex were to release a new Explorer when this year do you think it will be?

I expect a new movement and a new color face. Maybe a new band. Slightly boring, if you ask me.

I would like to see some techological advancements in the lume. Maybe solar or a stronger and longer lasting luminescence? This IS a watch made for cave explorers...lol.

Oh, I like these 'upgrades'. A lot...

Rolex will never make a watch out of titanium. If you've ever owned a titanium watch, you will know why. When titanium gets scratched, it looks like crap. And it's difficult/impossible to refinish to a factory state.

I wouldn't be surprised if the GMT hand were shrunk down a bit. Hope it stays orange, however.

True, but they could use, for example, titanium middle pieces in the band to reduce weight. Or how about using titanium instead of ceramic? something different...

I hope not, I think that looks absolutely awful.

A rounded ceramic bezel is not very appealing IMO. Needs ridges on the edge like the GMT or Submariner.

I have a titanium wedding ring.. Big mistake. You are very correct, looks like crap. Doesn't take much, either.

I'd agree its an extreme longshot in my list but tudor makes the pelagos in titanium, I would be beyond surprised if they did that with the expII but I can always dream...

Really not a fan of the ceramic mock-ups. Would be cool if they made an olive drab dial variant. And don’t mess with the orange hand...

For me I think the bezel could be an area to push new production tech/manufacturing.....

Currently I think the bezel is engraved, brushed and paint filled. It kinda fits with the workman like aesthetic/tone of the Explorer. For me, I think the sharpness of the graphics ends up I think looking a bit soft due to the process.

So, I’m thinking much sharper looking, laser cut graphics, perhaps with multiple material sandwich... ie stainless on the top, dark(black) substrate underneath...

Explorer II Anniversary

How did nobody guess the obvious?

TT SS/YG... yep plan on it.

FHH W&W is slated for April, 2021 where Rolex and Patek have settled after exiting BaselWorld- it may be a virtual show but that’s my guess of a target release...

I would be shocked if they did that. They usually have very minor incremental updates. Absent releasing a NEW model/color, I don’t recall them ever doing something so drastic, unless it’s like a white gold or gold piece. I’m referring to the green hand.

I can see a ceramic bezel but it sure they will do that at this point given the ceramic gmt already exists. This would create model differentiation. But definitely the only possibility.
