SMP gets my vote...ceramic bezel, hands, dial, movement, overall looks, etc. My favorite is this bond le....very comfortable and a bit unique.

SMP vote. I wouldn't wear that Pelagos even if free. I don't care for virtually any of its design elements.
The SMP on rubber wears so comfortably you forget it's on. It is more so than my submariner. For a big watch it is small lug to lug. One knock on the SMP is the bracelet. The inside of the SMP bracelet needs a quick buff to soften the razor sharp CNC lines. I don't care to do that and will wait until service someday so I bought the rubber strap and buckle and never looked back.

Just based on purely aesthetics (for me of course) I'd go with the tudor.
There's something about the seamaster's second crown that seems out of place.

I’m really surprised over the years they haven’t integrated the He escape valve. Especially considering Omega makes technical strides before their peers with certain aspects. It really is a bit of an eyesore and other companies obviously don’t have that.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. While I still need to try both on a few more times in the coming months, I’m currently leaning ever so slightly in favor of the SMP. Someone posted that if I got rid of the Pelagos once it may not be the one for me which made sense to me. I do regret the sale but maybe something about it wasn’t right for me. Additionally; in the divers dept, I would have two Tudors so possibly makes more sense to get the SMP for that as well.
Hopefully trying each on a few more times will help me choose with my heart and not my brain, which is usually a mistake in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was very close to buying a SMP. Great watch but the HEV and bracelet changed my mind.

Great discussion here. Went through same dilemma last fall. Back and forth between both. Too many trips to the AD to count. Finally pulled trigger on the Pelagos LHD. Could not be more satisfied. Got to believe the Pelagos will hold up better over time look wise. Really think the Omega's will really look dated in the future. The Pelagos LHD has in my view such a classic appearance it will always look fresh if that makes sense. The bracelet, clasp, bezel are fantastic. The off white hands and markers are a beautiful offset to dial and bezel insert. And of course the roulette date wheel and red pelagos lettering. And did I mention it has to be the most legible dial and hand combination I have ever seen. The size/weight ratio due to the use of titanium is great. And don't forget the 70 hour power reserve. I really wanted to like the Omega's but couldn't get past the bezel and the bracelet. I could never justify buying a watch then immediately replace the supplied bracelet with something else. To each his own however so enjoy your purchase.

Seamaster in stainless. Titanium watches feel cheap to me.

If you’re using them in the water, the Pelagos, hands down. If you’re using them to appear rigged and manly without doing manly things, the Seamaster is nicer to look at.
Easy right? |

Hard choice... the SM manual HE valve bugs me (you think they would've figured out how to make it automatic by now?) and the skeleton hands I could do without. BUT if you're after a shinny watch as a Rolex Sub alternative at half the price, then it's not a bad choice. On the other hand, the Pelagos has the better Lume and is more unique due to titanium... but it's a true tool watch first and foremost , so you have to absolutely love that aesthetic, because it's not as versatile(might not wear with a suit for example) and can be rather dull to look at sometimes(no polished surfaces) and it's probably 1-2mm too thick. I think it more closely compares to an SD43. I've owned both the blue and black Pelagos.... probably an LHD next instead of a SM for me, just love that it has that Rolex DNA.

Style is always subjective, but the fit and finish of the Seamaster is a grade above Tudor, but in the end buy what you love or else pass!

Seamaster is a much better watch IMHO. The history, the finishing, the movement and its a very versatile watch. I'm partial to the white face

As a former Seamaster and current Tudor owner, SMP for the win.

I want to love the Seamaster but it looks so dated. It’s like they gave a great designer the mandate “make an awesome watch but it’s gotta look like the 1990’s.”

My vote is SMP. From the current lineup, I can't decide on which one, including the Titanium. So I remain without

Nothing wrong with the omega as far as quality goes, in fact I’d say it’d fair better than a Pelagos (lume falling out of bezel) but they are very different looking watches to compare. Seamaster is a very soft, 90’s look and will forever be the eternal 21st birthday type of watch. I don’t really see them as direct opposition, one is a tough looking tool watch and the other is a smooth, dressy looking watch.
For me it’s be the Pelagos but if you like the look of the omega I’d honestly say get the omega as I’d wager it’d last better. |

Both are fabulous watches. For me, I would pick the SMP, I prefer it's looks, I had the version before, it was stunning.

From those 2 would recomend the Seamaster if you already had and sold the Pelagos because it was too thick (I briefly had the LHD and found it too thick as well for a daily piece)

I would probably pick the SMP because, like others said, I also don't prefer the snowflake hands. I know this is sacrilege for Tudor fans, but it's just personal preference.
I actually prefer the hands of the Ranger and North Flag. If I could have my way I'd like to see them on more Tudor watches. |

The Seamaster is nice and thin at 13mm or so, and overall fit and finish is excellent. However, the Pelagos is tough to beat for legibitly and comfort.
