Pelagos vs Seamaster
Hi Everyone. Today I got to try on a Seamaster and I was truly impressed. Wow. I used to have a 2254 that I really like but thought the bezel was awful. Also, on paper this one seems massive. However, on the wrist I was really impressed and instantly loved it. I’ve had a Pelagos in the past that I sold because I thought it was a little too thick. However, I’ve always somewhat regretted it and have thought about getting it back in my collection. I really love the blue of the Pelagos. But this SMP300 blue really has me debating between the two.
What do you guys think between the two? Neither really add a different brand to my current collection but here’s my current collection: Hulk (keeper) Explorer (keeper) Speedy (keeper) Snowflake (keeper) BB58 (keeper) Damasko DA46 (keeper) SPB143 Nomos Tangente (currently posted this one for sale) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I definitely prefer the Seamaster. I might get one myself.

I think the Seamaster 300M is a great watch, don’t really care for the Pelagos. But, to each their own.

In a battle of the blues, I’d go Pelagos. Mainly because I’d prefer to wear it on bracelet. If rubber, I think I’d go SM.

I think everything in the Omega line tries too hard with the exception of the lowly Hesalite Speedmaster Professional. I vote Pelagos.

SMP
It’s a classic going on 30yrs now. Add an oem Omega shark mesh bracelet and it shames many watches costing 4x as much. |

Can't go wrong with either, really. You only need to decide which makes you smile more. Cheers Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

Seamaster gets majority votes on a Tudor forum.
It gets mine as well. I think Tudor tries too hard and only exists because of its brother. |

Personally, I love the Pelagos. I own the Blue and the LHD. They are amazing watches, they have that look you know like "I am here to get this done, time to go to work".
I have tried the seamaster on and we did not click. But, that is just me. You already owned the Pelagos and let it go, maybe this other is the right diver for you. In the end none of our opinions matter, you are the one plucking your bank account so your opinion is the one that matters. This is perhaps the toughest decision in the watch world today. You can't go wrong either way.
For me, the Omega was the winner. It is a level above in every way. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk |

Pelagos vs Seamaster
I love Tudors but in your case you had the Pelagos, and you let it go for a reason. The Pelagos hasn’t changed and that reason will remain.
Get the SeaMaster. |

The Seamaster bezel is very hard to turn therefore less than practical. I had one a few years ago but still cannot fathom why Omega persists with the ‘scalloped’ design on this range.

I used to not be able to turn the Black Bay bezel because I thought I should grip on the side of them, basically impossible with those tiny bezel cuts. Just press from top down and you're golden, ignore the sides. |

Pelagos vs Seamaster
Really? The coin edge bezel turns very easily when gripping the sides. Even when wet. Or even underwater. Also with gloved hands.

I guess my grip was more directly from the sides instead of more of a top-angle. When I mean from the side I mean DIRECTLY from the side, no fingers on the insert |

I agree, it's a winner on mesh, this is a $200 Staib mesh I bought. wears great and I like the look.

I own both. They are different enough to both have room in my collection. For me they have their own identities.
The anti-reflection crystal on the SMP will disappear and you can really see the ceramic bezel details. Whilst the Pelagos looks less fancy and reflective, more tool watch. One caveat though, the SMP beats at a lower frequency than the Pelagos and I 'do' notice. At the end of the day, you choose the one you want.

Yep I've owned the sesmaster but the previous ones that were more svelte and smaller. I own the Pelagos LHD and previously the blue, it is chunky and slab like on the sides. Enjoyable depth of the dial. Great click for the bezel. Easy to read. Lots of txt that you won't notice once wearing. The bracelet catches my arm hair though Vs oyster bracelets which do not.
