It is all hype, I have been into watches less than a year, COVID stay at home restrictions got me looking up stuff I knew nothing about, and stumbled (hard) down the rolex rabbit hole

Could not believe how tacky the Hulk looked at first, what the hell do you wear a green watch with

Loved the smurf as half of everything I wear is blue/navy

10 months on I would love a hulk, along with every other superhero entitled watch

Pure hype but I want one!!!!!!

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the color green itself. The hype comes from the fact that it's not the standard black Sub.

I think it's mostly just being different. I think a modern black Sub is a bit like saying I have a great taste, but no personality. Just my opinion. Green bezel solves this.

no more says you have personality than wearing purple clown shoes to work or novelty tie

Black date Sub is the most nondescript Rolex watch. I say somebody has a Rolex. What do you think of? Right, it's a black date Sub. Not a Milgauss. Not a GMT. Not the Explorer. It's the Sub.

Plus there's a big difference between wearing purple clown shoes or a novelty tie to work and wearing something like a tie with a pattern instead of a plain black tie. If you want something plain and understated, you shouldn't be looking at Subs anyway. It should be a small thin dress watch.

It’s a different color from the standard black and it is “more exclusive”. Simple. And that draws appeal from many. Such as myself. If green was the standard and black was the variation then ppl would go nuts for the black.
But i do actually like the color green though as it is versatile with black or brown accessories.
