I had a similar minor ding on the side of my submariner watch a few years ago. I spoke to RSC and they kindly agreed to do a polish-only to remove for me, without the need for a full service, so it wasn’t expensive, and it only took 2 weeks to come back as good as new 🙂

It's barely noticeable in the grand scheme of things.
You'll get more and possibly worse but keep laser welding in mind when the time comes FYI, mine is pretty banged up and much worse than yours. Between barking it up against Stainless Steel flanges, Barnacles, and sharp puppy teeth it's going fine with one service under it's belt with (no polishing). Relax and enjoy |

I know how u feel on that first ding/scratch. Its hard not to think about it but after a few months of wearing you probably wouldn't care about it anymore

I just dropped my new Exp II way more badly than that ding. Feels not so cool to be honest —but I didn’t intent to sell the watch, so I’m not really worrying much around it holding value.
I wouldn’t worry about your ding. Too small Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Be careful and don’t get that watch wet until you get it laser welded.

The DSSD is especially prone to lug dings due to the case height. It's like wearing a target on the wrist. Your question is a good one but premature. Ask it again when you're ready to make a move. I bet it'll look different then than now. And congrats on the beautiful watch!

Jesus man, you buy the heaviest, most water resistant Rolex watch and worry about this?!! You should sell the watch and put the money towards your faberge egg collection.

Like everyone said, don't sweat it and enjoy. It's a tank of a watch, a little character the nick is, nothing more.

The DSSD is a tank. Sure, the first scratch (or dent in this case) hurts, but it will keep on ticking... I know mine does
Use it for what it's intended purpose is! Don't sweat it |

Best way is to sell it.
And buy another. Lol. Jk It sucks, I know. But in time, u won’t care as much hopefully. I don’t think I would polish or laser weld it.... At least wait for few more dings before u do anything. Lol

Yeah... I’ll probably buff it out on the top right of the vase but will keep the bezel untouched and the rest of the other smaller dings it’s kind of growing on me still. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Character. Don't sweat the small dings.
