My watch has a few marks on it but I can barely find them. Bought new June 2020 and after each wear, I wash it lightly with a little dab of shampoo, rinse it off, dab the water off with a soft towel and I never rub water, fingerprints or dust off it. Sounds crazy maybe but all my watches look new but I still enjoy wearing them.

Just enjoy the watch. Scratches and dings are inevitable. Worrying about the first few on a brand new piece is part of the fun though. I daily a SD43 and its pretty scratched up.

One reason for this would be that the common objects and materials you come into contact with are hard enough to scratch both gold and steel. Unfortunately the silicates / oxides that can inhabit shirt cuffs and counter surfaces are extremely hard and can scratch nearly anything but corundum and diamond.

Just to be safe, you might as well leave the bezel protector on there as well.

If it bugs you a lot and it’s been a few weeks, you can brush the clasp only. But if you start looking at the other PCL you’ll be bothered by them when they get scratched. Someone recently posted photos photos of SS bracelet with PCL that was fully polished. Leather strap would solve the issue too. Best to you. Enjoy the great watch.
