My Rolex shopping is different from most of you I guess. I only ask for specific watches I want and never get random offers for anything else.
I received my 116500 in November 2019 after a 9 month wait, it was my 3rd SS Professional watch since late 2017. After the new model Trunk Show in September of 2020 I asked for a Coral Red OP41 and one came in just a few weeks later. I had to pass because of an unrelated big purchase that same week. I asked again last year for the same watch and got it last month. So I would say I have not been treated any differently since the Daytona. I don’t currently want anything else, if I do in the future I am confident I’ll be put in line for one.

How do these new model trunk show's work? My AD invited me to something like this for the first time, its happening in a couple weeks...I was told I can see and try on all the new models. Have you had success with getting allocations of the new pieces, after those shows?

Basically, they have the new models to look at and try on, they have always been non-functional ones. I’ve been to three shows after the traditional March shows and you could ask for something(however that is handled at your AD)but none were delivered until June usually. They also had drinks and snacks and you left with a goodie bag.
The 2020 introduction was in September, a late anomaly due to the Covid issues that year. That time there actually was a few watches delivered at the event, I know they had a few of the new Subs and some random OP’s. The only thing I was interested in was the red OP41 and they didn’t have any of those but did get their first just a few weeks later.
The fact that you are invited means you are a valued customer of the dealer but don’t expect Santa Claus to be there!

They know I want a skydweller and GMT - with emphasis on CHNR when I tried on multiple times.

Who else has been shut down by their AD post 116500?
I got my 116500Black dial in summer 2017. Since then have been able to get 1 or 2 pcs per year of Professional models. However, my AD did say that they will now follow Rolex recommendation of 1 professional piece per year, even for an old client like me (customer since 2010).

Amazing, thanks for the rundown! Looking forward to it, and hopefully will be able to acquire my favorites from the new lineup in the near future.

Haha - Rolex decide the number of watches and specific models the ADs get. Easy to keep them in line and follow the Rolex mantra from Head Office.
