I’d keep the Sub by a mile! So much cooler looking. The colors on the GMT are off to me.

Not sure what else is in the collection, but the Blue Sub never did much for me in photos - may be totally different in person. I would keep the GMT.

Ditto. New WG sub looks like an ugly stepchild compared to Smurf.

If it was the WG Smurf, I'd keep the Sub. I think the Blue Dial Pepsi is more rare. I'd vote to keep the GMT.

I also prefer the older wg sub, but I really have no use for a GMT so I'd probably still keep the sub

I’d keep the diver. I don’t care much for the blue dial

OP — I’d keep the GMT but your comments show your preference for the Sub. So, do what you feel and to heck with the opinion of an internet forum.

I would keep the Sub as it's a better look to me but also, the thinner lugs look better to me than the maxi case lugs on the GMT.

What is current grey market price for WG sub? I want one and can’t seem to find one? I’ll bet it’s not too far from MSRP and might just bite the bullet

I believe that one of the trusted sellers on this forum has a WG sub for sale right at MSRP in fact just a little below MSRP.

I went through this EXACT same dilemma, and with a little help from a friend i was able to conclude that the GMT was best for me and my collection. pros and cons of the WGsub the biggest con for me was comfort the sub weighs a bit more than the gmt and i could really feel it. I was ALWAYS adjusting the glide lock on it. another con for me for the WGsub(sort of) I have the LV sub too. and when I wear it the comfort is just perfect. Con for the WGsub most of my collection consisted of black dials so for me the blue dial on the gmt made so much more sense Pro for the GMT Personally i adore the blue dial with the blue and red bezel. the white plots of lume on the dial makes it a very unique piece and part of the heritage and lineage of the GMT history. Pro for the GMT the functionality of it. albeit i use the bezel on the sub all the time to set a timer for something i can basically do the same thing with the GMT as well tell time in three different time zones. Pro for the GMT even though it doesn't have the glide lock in the clasp it does have the easy link which is for me is way more than enough adjustment for my 7 1/4" wrist. I find the GMT way more comfortable than the sub Pro for the GMT- I have only had mine for a week or so and have already had more compliments from people compared to zero comments for my sub. I realize that this is a bit more subjective to the individual meaning you might not like the attention the piece brings to you. I however like getting complimented on my watch. I hope this helps you decide, no matter what decision you make I am certain it will be the right one. Cheers Mate! |

Seems pretty evenly split, interesting discussion.
I wasn't prepared for what a beautiful watch the WG sub is - the blue is just magnetic, with a super rich black dial. It's a spectacular piece, next to my VC Overseas, the best looking watch I have. The WG Pepsi is a baller watch, no question. It's heavy, the colors are striking, but it seems to have more formality to it than the sub (I wear the sub with jeans and t-shirt all the time) and again - those competing blues. Maybe the deciding factor is that yes, I can get the Pepsi in SS while as others have noted, only the PM Sub has the blue dial. As for the market, although everything is down right now, it seems to favor the GMT by a bit. I'm guessing those paying for the GMT have never worn the WG sub. |

There was a time when I never considered a GMT so it's always been a Sub over a GMT for me.
However, in this case, that GMT is awesome and I just don't think the smurf blue bezel goes well with the black dial. If they would have toned it down to a darker blue... So. It's another vote for the GMT. |

The GMT with this blue dial is totally unique. The Sub is another black dial Sub with a fancy bezel.

GMT between those two. If you had the Smurf I would have chose that.

Keep that GMT over the Sub. It has so much going for it, its almost a no brainer!

It seems like the issue for you with the GMT is the color variants not matching, and the issue with the Sub is that it may be too plain with the black dial not being enough to set it apart as a PM model.
I would sell them both and use the money to buy a meteorite dial GMT Pepsi. It is uniquely a PM model and you get the extra usability of a GMT function. No color issues for matching as the grey scale of the dial works well with the ceramic bezel colors. Plus, you should be able to sell the two of them to buy the meteorite and still have $10,000-$20,000 left over. |

I'm not a fan of either watch tbh. I'd sell both and get a gmt meteorite or something a little more wow than either of those 2 watches.

Man this is a really hard choice as they are both amazing watches.
Can you post your entire Rolex collection so we can get a better perspective? |
