I will be astonished if there’s a liquid market for these at 350k, that would be insane. I’m sure some dealers will try but the market is cold af right now and people are allergic to paying 3x plus for in production watches let alone that markup.

Agreed. 350k maybe back in 2021.

I think it’s opening price could be insane at around 200k, but I bet it settles closer to 125-150k.

Can’t wait for someone to bump this in a year to tell me how poorly it aged.

LOL I will put a task on my calendar to check this thread a year from now

To be clear, my $350k number is opening hype numbers for the first couple of months. I do not mean to suggest it's going to stay there longer term. That said, I still see it settling $175 to $200k. I truly think there is just way too much demand for this one and there are very deep ties to the Daytona legacy. You're also going to have people that purely speculate on this model as well and buy under the belief that there will be somebody there down the line to offer them more.

No worries, you could very well be right.

I think making predictions is fun and I have no delusions that I can actually foresee the future.

Can’t wait for the future thread bump!

Congrats OP!

On a separate note, I am probably one of the few who isn’t that enthusiastic about this particular model. While it’s nice, some of the photos I’ve seen on Hodinkee and other websites make me think that it’s too similar to a black dial SS Daytona. It will be rarer but that’s about it.

I buy to keep, never flip, so the monetary “insta-gain” is almost moot…

Realize the plastic wrap isn’t helping the look. The black dial 116500 is gorgeous in person and doesn’t casually photograph as well as it looks (using careful photography it is photographs beautifully as my picture in the gallery demonstrates). Now I think this Le Mans is in a similar category…???
This lemans dial is brushed sunburst Matte black so it won’t shine glossy like the 116500LN. Plus it’s wrapped in plastic so that detracts from it’s looks as well.

I read TRF on the web and the interface is ... slightly unhelpful. I don't see any of the OP's posts unless I scroll through every response to his original post. Do you have an App or something that you use?

(On the web, I won't even be notified that you've responded to me, if you do. So I'll have to scroll through the posts later to see whether you do! There surely must be a better way than this.)

Question for you. Was it an exhibition model or real deal for sale?

I doubt it’s an exhibition model sitting in the case. My AD often keeps the hardest of the hard to get watches in the back for a short period of time to show VIP customers before they decide which VVIP customer gets to buy it.

I've learnt now to read the whole thread before commenting. :) Too easy to read the first few posts and make the wrong assumption!
