I think the only real scenario would be if a person had a super old Datejust that was only worth 3-4K and wanted a new modern watch but didn’t have the funds. Then I can see it happening.
People on this forum? No way. Too much disposable income to have to sell a Rolex for a Tudor that sells for $3,700. How does this post even make sense? No one is selling a 10k plus watch to get a Tudor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't think anybody here will be selling to get one. Buying in addition to current Rolex collection....absolutely!. I think it's a winner. I'll get one if I didn't have a big wrist.

Unfortunately once again a lot of Rolex snobs on this forum
Just give me one good reason why you would not It are just watches Unfortunately most people still believe the most expensive is the best In the past I sold a patek I didn’t like anymore and bought Rolex and tudor.... People are so blind and just buy that name on the dial.... a pity

Just be patient. |

If you're trying to catch the hype train but you've already got a Rolex... no I don't see this happening.

My good reason is that I would not sell my GMT or Daytona for a blue dive watch. In addition the cost of entry for the Tudor is very low so I would just buy it if I wanted it. The original post was nothing more than a troll question anyway.

There is a lot of anger on this forum, it was just a spurious jokey question from the op.

Would I sell a Ferrari 488 for a new C8 Corvette? Sure the new Vette is sweet ... but it ain’t no 488! Please feel free to substitute “Rolex” and “Tudor” to get an idea how I view your question.

I actually would. I would pocket the cash difference of $200k from that transaction and invest that money into stocks. 5 years later, I would be much richer than today. With Rolex vs Tudor, difference in transaction value would be too small for me / for most others to bother with. Difference of $10k at most. |

Why would anyone in its right mind buy a BB58 at a premium, when you can wait a few months and get at retail? This is not a Rolex. It’s a Tudor.

The product is excellent, very well placed in price, as qualitative as a 5 digit but below a 6.
For the value, I doubt it can double like some big sisters, we should not hope too much on this side. I will not judge someone who separates from a Rolex for a Tudor for personal reasons. After all it's the same company. But personally I think it is complementary, like one everyday less "damage". That's why I bought it, dailywatch.

You know you could have sold your be all Rolex, bought two or three of these, increased your wealth by 50% and then bought the Rolex back with a Tudor in hand.
Anyways, it seems way too many people were offended by a tongue in cheek question. Nothing to lose your knickers over. From what I see they are being listed for 50% over retail and hype train has left the station. It is already more than SMP300 Diver and get very close to the price of a five digit sub depending on the scarcity. |
