Very understated is what I love most about this one. I’ve owned several others none spoke to me like this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The original Kermit Hulk Smurf Nothing in the 41 just my 2cents.. I hope I don’t get blasted. I’m just not a fan of the new subs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Before I click in, I thought most ppl's ultimate Submariner in heart will be vintage subs (pre 85s). Surprise to see majority of members' ultimate Subs are actually modern Subs.

Yes, I have I actually passed my sub call to a friend (we have the same AD). I don't know maybe its just my ADHD haha and I agree with you; you cannot tell side by side. Don't get me wrong the new subs are beautiful I just feel the 40mm sub is perfect. I enjoy my 16610's and 116610's maybe later I'll jump on the van.

I think the YG LB is without a doubt the “ultimate” Sub. I would say there are vintage versions like a double red, milsub or big crown that are “cooler” and more rare and even impressive, but as far as “ultimate” goes, the YG LB is the pinnacle.

As much as I like the newer reference, this is a very well used tool watch. The ultimate Sub is the one you wear.

It depends on how you define “ultimate.” If you are talking about iconic, then it would have to be the 5513-any year. If you are referring to value, then that’s another story. A 1972 5513 on a 93150 bracelet, and you’ll never want a different Sub-sold mine and regret it still.

What is the ultimate Submariner?!
Quote:
In my humble opinion, the ultimate Submariner is this one. :-) I tried hard to convince my wrist to accept something else but I failed. Even the 12 series with its similar great proportions was rejected. What can I do, my wrist is so picky about lug to lug proportions. To me the SD is THE SUB, then comes the actual Sub “12 series” then the 4 and 5 digit series. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
