1. The extension links on my Subs. Never use them.....and a pain in the butt to open up whenever I need to wash the watches!!

2. The rotating bezel - looks good, but never use it!!

So how about you??

And you thought the "one word to get to know us all" was a silly thread?!

Much the same as say a paratrooper having a reserve parachute. All in all a pretty useless "function" (until you NEED it) .

The extension on a Submariner bracelet? The timepiece was built for diving SO the bracelet was made to fit over a wet suit (DSSD a dry suit). Just because the vast majority of people that own them will not be using it for it's intended purpose hardly makes it useless.

Do all the yuppies that have 4x4's and SUV's ever even put the vehicle in that mode? No. Their vehicles rarely even drive on grass let alone in the muck. They bought the wrong type of vehicle for how they plan to use it also. Much the same as their watches.

I know it's been said earlier on but I needed to rant a bit. Sorry

I do not think that any part of a Rolex useless. Folks just don't use them as they were meant to be.

my 2 cents

You must give me a reasonable answer on the 2 min lume of the GV´s usefullness please :)

Other than that, very constructive and correct analysis of the subject

Sorry Christian, I do not have an explanation for the lack of duration the lume stays emitting light. Are all Milgausses like that that? If it is an isolated incident then perhaps it is a warranty issue. Or Rolex may have received a bad batch of material?

I am happy to report that in the twelve hours that I have had my current watch, it has been fully useful. I have used it to tell the time, the date, gotten it wet, tested the lume and used the bezel to time bread baking. This weekend it will be tested at the lake, but overall I am happy as a clam...or an oyster.

There are no useless features on a Rolex JJ, only unappreciative users, but Onkyo has a tip in his avatar for anyone, (not necessarily suggesting yourself) who may suggest otherwise.

Looking at some ex-members, the wearer would be strongly in the running for my vote for most useless feature.
