The LV MK2 is a beautiful vibrant and true green, and makes the MK1 look dull.

I never cared for the 12 series LV, but now I do.
The LV MK2 color much better and way more appealing.

I spoke to Adrian about this. He didn't say this stuff based on his own observations. He was filming his video in the Rolex booth and was saying to the camera that nothing happened in the Sub line. A very senior Rolex employee interrupted him and told him about the bezel color change. He told Adrian that sometimes Rolex likes to do these little "Easter eggs," as he called it.

I trust Adrian on this. He said he also got the same line from Cole Pennington, formerly of Hodinkee, recently moved to work for Tudor.

I mean we can look at pictures or maybe believe the guy who is actually at W&W on a press pass, and not assume he'd say this without confirming it and ruin his reputation just for some clicks on one video.

That would make no sense.

If you look at the Wayback Machine, they've used -0002 for a long time. Even the aluminum bezel LV had -0002 in the model number. It's not evidence of anything.

Still not convinced they are different but nonetheless helps me as I prefer the 1st one. Now grey will continue to drop. My AD is awesome but tired of waiting.

Yea, that old green color is terrible!!!

No lime please.

Now we know why there was an influx of 12 series Submariner LV incoming posts, cause the ADs knew there was an updated LV being released and that no one would want the old MK1 once they saw the new and improved MK2.

Haha funny.
I guess a lot of people would take the MK1 with a kiss on the hand.
Improved? Wtf it’s just a slightly different green..
and as taste is different I guess there are a lot of people out in this world who would prefer the MK1 over the “improved” model.

I took this picture this morning with my own sub LV. My AD has already the MK2 in his vault!

I think the one on the left has more yellow in the green. My guess is that's the new one. But the pic is so bright it is hard to tell the difference in the colors. IRL I think it'll be more evident that the new color is lighter and less of a deep forest green, more like a yellowish lime green.

Is it just me or does the old one look more ‘Rolex green’?

It's confirmed that there is no difference here, if so, it's very insignificant

It's confirmed that there IS a difference. A big difference... to everyone that isn't color blind.

I have the MK I and like the MK II better. At least from initial pictures. It doesn’t make me love my Mk I any less though :)

A couple of months after the release of the 12 series I had the chance to see both the LV and LN submariners at my AD (before they went out the door to other clients that they were earmarked for). To me, the LN came away as the winner because the green of the LV seemed off to me and there was something classic about the LN.

Will be interested to see the new green bezel to see if it changes my mind.

LN always beats any LV. It is a classic for a reason.

Not necessarily. I would take a 16610LV over a 16610LN any day. Granted there were more differences between those two than just the bezel (primarily the maxi dial).

You yes - but not the majority of the history of the world. Black is nurtural, green is specific. Not even a comparison. I had both, green is ok, but not easy to match everything. Same with blue.

What does ‘black is nurtural’ mean?

Means it goes with everything. Green is color specific. I couldn’t wear it with blue and many other colors. Black goes with everything, just like white.

I loved mine, it was great, you won. Better than the new, just like the Daytona.

You match your bezel color to your clothes? Fwow, that’s matchy!

No way.

At least not modern LN.

I can see a case for some vintage LN. I.e. matte dial 5513, double red etc. not modern though. I sold my modern LNs after having the 12 LV for a year.

The LV actually looks best imo with a navy shirt/jacket or a denim shirt

A watch is an accessory and does not (and probably shouldn’t) match your clothes. Contrast is key to fashion.

I tried to convince myself if that, I couldn’t do it. I loved the watch, but I wanted to go with one watch only. One watch for me can’t be green.

The old green is Rolex green. The new one seems the one of the first fat four edition more “acid” hue.

For me are both nice. Just matter of taste.

What is sure is that the mk1 will be more collectible like it always been
