I actually really like “SD43”. Short, simple, makes sense all around. Might be boring, but so is all the nickname bickering lol, and most don’t seem to have a problem with it.

Isn't it actually SD50? Maybe we should average the two and rename it SD46.5.

[Third iteration (16600, 116600, 126600) = Tree] + [Fiftieth Anniversary = Fiddy] = Tree Fiddy

Or just FIDDY

Who decides nicknames for Rolex models? Because the SD43 needs a new handle.

Just because your son coined that last one doesn’t make it a ‘thing’

Wow, so many overly serious people here...lol. I too dislike superhero name but some seem to stick (Hulk for example). I think nicknames are good thing. Easier to reference and remember and differentiate. 116600 and 116660 can get confusing. "Big Red" is already take by the Daytona 6263. Dropping the SD43 moniker makes sense since the next version might also be 43mm. I like "Deep Red" but it's kinda close to "Deep Sea". How about Red4K ...SD50 works too.

A sales associate called my BLNR a Batman the other day and I hated hearing a Rolex salesperson say that. I feel the comic book names are silly even though I like the Marvel comics movies.

Paul Newman, fine, he made it popular. DRSD, sure, two lines of red text on a SD.

Batman and Hulk? Nope, BLNR and LVc are good enough for me.

How about Fat Bastard. With its size and features, it's truly the bastard child of the DSSD and Sub date, and is like a fat version of the latter.

Let’s all face it. There was a nickname war. It doesn’t matter which side you were on, but the nicknames won. I’ve met people who aren’t even into watches that have heard of the Rolex “Batman”! It’s spread. Even the authorized dealers don’t call it an LVC, they call it a “Hulk!”.

I’m not saying I like the nick names. I’m a bit more Switzerland about it (lol), I’m just saying it might be a little easier if we all just accept the fact that they exist.

When I talk about a BLNR, some people know what I’m talking about, when I say Batman, everyone knows.

Hit the nail on the head! Handles like '' THE HULK'' are just one of the things that draw so many to Rolex.

I mean who would buy an ugly green Rolex if it didn't have a cool name?
Just kidding guys.
