The english love rolex
I had a high volume client meeting today from a gentleman from england and to my surprise poking from up under his sleeve was a 16613 blue submariner and of course i was wearing my TT black submariner.
As we wrapped up todays business we got into an interesting conversation about the popularity of the watches we own , i told him that here in the states that the blue seems to be the color of choice and he explained that he searched high and low for the TT black submariner and went on to tell me how popular and a rarity that is in england. My questions are for the english owners of submariners on the forum are they really that popular or is this an over hype, weigh in... |

hi there,
i couldn't buy a tt black sub in the UK. you find the odd blue one.. but black is rare. its not as popular..but i prefer it. i looked high and low for a pre-owned black tt before buying a steel one, phoned ALL the london dealers, all the dealers on ebay and the internet, left messages on answer phones and left my lead with many sellers.. nothing. i came accross a couple of blue's ..but no black.. and dont even bother looking for a serti! lol!.. they dont really exist right? lol.. |

probably cos he has never seen one before! it doesn't photograph as well as the blue and that's where most folks start, looking at pics ete, but when you see one in the flesh its a beauty to behold. ive only ever caught a glimpse at one. i see lots and lots of blues though.
id flip my steel anyday for a black tt, but not a blue. |

Two Tone was never popular in Europe so it didn't decrease.I am sure if you wanted 1 you would have a hard time finding 1 as they are not in high demand. SS is what 90% of the people want in Europe. He should be buying all he sees here as he wont find the USA prices in the UK in his dreams
