i am looking to get a white steel daytona from some guys on 47th street in nyc... do all new ones have the etched coronet on them? if so where is it because I was looking at some and they do not have them at the 6 o clock position... does that mean it's old?

you could also tell its age by the rehaut engraving, fat or skinny hands, and clasp

I'm getting it as an engagement gift and don't want to get ripped off!

No mention of the etching but lots of other info available here on post 2000 daytonas:
http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/pa...parachrom.html All the new ones do have the etching. Unless you're looking with a loupe you might not be able to see it though. I picked up my white SS Daytona last Friday after a 2 year wait. I'm sure you'll love it when you get your hands on one. |

What serial letter is the watch, finding that out may help you figure out if it has it or not.
