daytona

i am looking to get a white steel daytona from some guys on 47th street in nyc... do all new ones have the etched coronet on them? if so where is it because I was looking at some and they do not have them at the 6 o clock position... does that mean it's old?

The Laser-Etched Coronet means its kinda new... They have that since 2004 or so... I'm not sure

so if it doesn't have it at all it must be older than 2004ish? and definitely NOT new?

you could also tell its age by the rehaut engraving, fat or skinny hands, and clasp

No mention of the etching but lots of other info available here on post 2000 daytonas:

All the new ones do have the etching. Unless you're looking with a loupe you might not be able to see it though.

I picked up my white SS Daytona last Friday after a 2 year wait. I'm sure you'll love it when you get your hands on one.

thanks... I looked at it through a loupe and it didn't have the etching so I am assuming it is older than a few years. is it possible for them to be able to get old watches that are still "new"? or would it be most likely be that they just cleaned it up and put the stickers and packaging all back together?

What serial letter is the watch, finding that out may help you figure out if it has it or not.
