fake two-tone band

I have seen a few of these lately as well..it is a complete fake and has fooled many many people..I just had a watch come in thsi week witrh one of these fakes..they are made to fool those unfamiliar with what a real band looks like and most have the correct number stampings,etc..
AND THIS GUY WONT EVEN ACCEPT RETURNS!
so once you find out your expensive rolex band was made in china this creep will tell you "SORRY"..
now thats a load of bull!
lets end this jerks auction~!

...I PERSONALL believe...

...the band to be genuine.

...the markings are CORRECT.

...the CENTER LINK ends where the springbars go thru are correct for the NEWER version-notice the shape.

...the color is most likely the result of the seller trying to enhance it.

as far as the blades on the clasp I would like to see some close-ups before I say they are fakes as well.
I will try to get some pics of the band that was just rejected by rolex for everyones comparison..you will definitely be scared!

Hey guys, that's my auction on there- I'd never knowingly try to pass off a counterfeit band. I'll gladly accept returns for it if it does turn out to be a fake. Thanks for the message, Steve or whoever emailed me on ebay today. It came on a 16753 I purchased a few months back. I did as much research as I could before listing it. I'll link the fullsize images here for you guys to look over. :)

Oh, and happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'll check when I get home this afternoon- and post some photos of my findings. Any other specific parts you'd like photos of?

Took a screw off the bracelet and took some photos with a makeshift macro setup. Here's what I found.

I am the first to admit when I make a mistake..I digress.
my apologies to the seller, with these new fakes that I have been seeing its easy to get hyper-sensitive to anything that looks the slightest bit off.
with your better pics it becomes easier to see that its authentic as well..actually I believe youll have lots more bidders now..lol..I am one of them!

Well that band is real BUT like Steve said I too have seen some very and I mean very good fakes the last 6 months. One local seller showed me 4 newer subs all with fake SEL bracelets. My guesstimate is that they are selling the real bands to make up for the price drop.

Thank you Mike for posting those high quality close up photos.

My sincerest apologies as well for even a hint of doubt regarding the authenticity of your band.

If you like, please send a beautiful girl to my home address to administer a severe spanking.

Great shots Mike Glad this one is cleared up

Apologies from me here on doubting, like Steve mentioned, I too have seen some very very close to genuine looking counterfeits here in Sydney, and these were that close it would scare the pants off you :-)

Good luck on the bidding Steve That chart of Stans is fantastic, its a keeper time to file that one

Steve, I must be missing something here, as it looks 100% to me from the pics provided.

The color looks off because of the photo quality - the whole band has a yellow tint to it. It might be because the photos were taken under tungsten lighting while the camera was set to sunlight. This will happen and I see these type of photos quite often.

The clasp looks fine, the thumb-nail recess looks good, and the opening on the coronet found on the top of clasp looks overly oval due to the camera angle.

The 401B end link stampings and font are identical to genuine 401B end links and are stamped in the same exact location as found on genuine end links. The 94153 stamping font and stamping also appear as that on genuine bands.

The band has been "rode hard and put up wet." It is well used in my opinion.

I think the yellow tint in the photos and some of the camera angles used to shoot the photos would make one suspicious, but the band looks good to me - worn, but genuine.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks for giving me the time to find out if it's real or not- I'm happy the news was good. No hard feelings at all- it's great to know fellow members are looking out for eachother.

Hope everyone stuffed themselves silly yesterday- I know I did

I figured I should let you know I'm re-listing this band. I did sell it a few years ago, but the bidder never paid. I'd forgotten about it until I pulled the Mini-Sub out of the safe to put up for sale. I'm going to include the close-ups in the auction this time to eliminate any authenticity questions.
