When it was first introduced at one of the Swiss fairs it took everyone by surprise. Columns were written, experts discussed the merits. And then we had the, "my watch is better than anyone else's". Or it's still just a quartz. Most of the derision came from basically one group of watch owners. Guess.
I have had mine since shortly after they were made through a select number (35 rings a bell of Seiko dealers). I had to order mine from a dealer in another state. This was not grey market but simply that my state had no 'select' Seiko dealer.
OK accuracy. It's a marvel in time keeping. Some detractors will say it's nothing but a quartz. Wrong. I can't go into the details, because I would do a lousy job trying to explain. Visit the Seiko Spring Drive BB for detailed info. The case is SS with a black dial, small seconds at 9, and the amount of hours left to move the watch is above the 6. It has a 72 hour power reserve. A very legible date is at 3. It a transparent case back to watch the column wheel, I think. As it smoothly moves around its post. Everything is smooth and understated. I don't regret buying it because in my opinion, it's a keeper.

1) Not sure of the point you are making?

2) How does a 'marvel in time keeping' compare to COSC?

3) How does the 'very legible date' compare to other dates?
