the right watch?

hi everyone, i am new to the fourm. i just found out that my wife was ls looking at a rolex for me, don't know why i never wear a watch. i found a card in her purse from a rolex ad with a model code (i think) of 564562 and a price of $5,450. does anyone know this code? or what watch is around this price? sood i just let her buy me the watch or do i stop her?. i think the last time i used a watch was about 2 years ago.

what do i do?

once again...a new member asking a legit question looking for help only to be thrown some sacrastic comment by another new member...maybe its just me on a kick today, but is just rude.
first off...to the Opening poster..welcome to TRF. not all of us are as witty as this guy..(how's that for sarcasm)

and on to your question...those numbers would most likely correspond to a serial number..and not a specific model. is there any other numbers? as rolexes have both a model number and a serial number..if we can get the model number figured out then we can get you an idea of which watch it is and if that is a fair price or not. model number example would be 16610= a Stainless steel submariner. 16613= a stainless/gold submariner, etc...

Justin,

You are an asset to this forum and you have some great posts / balanced opinions. I know you took issue with a thread earlier today...but I have to comment here.

I must admit, I had some problems understanding the OPs post here. Furthermore I admit wondering if the post was sincere.

A guy does not wear a watch, but takes the time to join a Rolex forum and create an Avatar etc. But wait, there's more...

Here is the OPs other post on TRF. Does not seem to jive with the post on this thread - his 2nd since joining...does it???

Justin, you really seem like a nice guy. maybe too nice. This guy WAS bragging about driving an AMG Mercedes on another post, which was unnecessary and irrelevant.

I myself, TRY and I emphasize try, to be funny. But not at another's lack of knowledge, verbiage, or opinions. But, you have to admit, there are people that come here and try to start threads just to be controversial and not productive.

I am not saying that it is the case, but there does exist a large amount of a$$holes that don't have something better to do. Granted, the second post came from a guy that just began to post here. I made a mistake here when I first came on. Now I understand what not to do and you are perfectly right that people should be allowed to learn the ropes.

Just ignore the dumb asses and keep your good posts coming.

Point taken Justin. BF comment was uncalled for by our TRFer.

I do notice fewer women here...but unsure about others who have left.

Have also seen a number of specious posts as well recently. Dads watch in a safe, hackers in disguise, trolls who get banned and return with a new user name (but the same grammar)

Oh well...

As Larry says, "Chill it's just a watch forum" I need to take that advice.

Ooohh , golly gosh . What a tangled web we weave ... Ok we all have joined this site because we like Rolex watches and we do this as a pass time . Now I cannot understand that there are creatures with an internet connection actually find nothing better to do then come up with complete baloney situations . I suggest that some of those people should get a life , if not join "second life" and not TRF .
Thank you .

Agreed, and and that price, there's no way it could be a Deepsea. I'm not sure of the exact price in the US, but i'm guessing it's around the $9k mark.

Maybe it's from another brand of watch?

Just because the card is from a Rolex AD doesn't mean she was looking at a Rolex.

Does that number jive with another brand?

I think you should introduce her to some of the sellers in this forum.
No doubt in my mind that she will over pay if she goes to an AD.
but then, there are advantages going to an AD of course.
I think if you already know what you like... ie DS.
then you should be honest and tell her... and show her how much those DS are going for on this forum, on ebay...etc. so she can compare the prices. Just my 2 cents.
