I always felt that the GMT II-C was also smaller than the Sub. I got a good comparison with it side by side and kind of came up with the conclusion that the bezel on the GMT II-C is bigger. Therefore, the glass is smaller on that compared to the Sub. The Maxi dial on the it might also make a difference.

hi marcus, your keen observation is right on. the sub case is bigger - maybe not by diameter but by thickness - especially in the lugs. moreover, the caseback on the sub is also thicker. the combined effect is that the sub stands up a little more on the wrist. the ceramic gmt ii is definitely thicker. than the sub and the old gmt ii. i'm presuming that the new sub has the same case thickness as the gmtiic. here's photo of a sub nd with an expii, which shares the same case dimensions as a gmt ii.

I don't know if you meant 11661x or 1661x Sub but here's my 16613 and GMTIIc...
To me, the GMT "looks" bigger but it's an illusion. Both are the same width. Haven't measured but I'm thinking the crystal is the same diameter on both. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
