Daytona time differences between chrono sweep hand and seconds dial
I'm the proud owner of a recently acquired 2002 vintage Daytona TT. It was just regulated by the shop who sold it to me and is now gaining about 1 second per hour on the small seconds dial that runs continuously which is a great improvement over the initial accuracy.
I'm also testing the chrono sweep hand accuracy over 24 hours. Is there any rule of thumb that if the sweep hand is running that it will deviate in accuracy from the continuous seconds dial or will change the gain/loss rate? I've read on this forum about regulating watchs. What are the challenges in regulating a Daytona? Thanks for your help. Best regards, Brian Smith |

If your second hand is really gaining 1 second per hour, that means that your watch is running about 24 seconds fast per day. That is too much and it should be able to be regulated much closer than that. There is a possibility that there is some underlying mechanical problems that is the cause.
A minute is a minute is a minute. The second hand and chrono sweep hand will keep the same time. Make sure you are using a consistent reference to check your timing. Mark |
