Kaka. The "certificate" states 'ruby hour markers', and I thought rubies were red. Not a shade of red on that dial.

Greg , I'm 100% with you in thinking this is kaka , however when you say ruby is only red you are mistaken . Ruby is a commercial term for corundum . Corundum also includes sapphire which you will say is blue . They are the same stone , only with the "ruby" variety having iron included that determines its color ( magnesium bringing the blue in sapphire ) You will find that most of the corundum id now artificially " grown" and they include various other metals to create other colors . All of the "rubis " used in watch movements nowadays are artificial . Natural ruby , in the "pigeon blood" quality over 3 carats can fetch more then the same size top grade diamonds .
