Keep 16610 or trade for SD?

I have a mint 16610...but for some reason the Seadweller looks better because of no cyclops..

but Im telling myself.... they are really the same just the cyclops!

Dont know if its worth messing with or just keep the 16610 ?

David

David, have you tried the SD on? There was a time I considered flipping my Sub Date for a SD, but then I went to an AD to try one on....I couldn't believe the difference....to me, the SD's dial looked a lot smaller, even though the difference is only 1mm. I prefer how the Sub Date looks on me. Be sure before you let that 16610 go.

Sub face looks bigger!!!!!!!

Me like Sub!

Keep it, you just want more. You'll never be satisfied with the number or type of watches you have (just like the rest of us).

Do you scuba dive??

If not, consider the thicker head of the SD Vs. The larger diameter of the Sub as others point out.

Cheers!

While both use the same movement, the SD has always had a more "business like" look to me. Really depends on which strikes you the most.

They are generally as same as A corvette and Ferrari are generally the same....SD is the technically superior and professional version of the SUB .. SUBS are considered recreational but not SDs ... SDs are Kings ....

Sub date is a classic. Keep it. Buy SD if it smiles to you

I think they're both nice watches! After my explorer II I'm beginning to appreciate the cyclops more.

Hard choice, but I'd keep the 16610, and work a little while for the next. Can't hurt having two!

Try the SD on and see which one is better. I have a SD and a Sub Date and like the Sub Date better.

Sea Dweller without a doubt. The thicker case and lack of cyclops put it over the top for me.

Had the same dilemma a few months back, so I tried both on and walked away with a 16610. In hindsight, the SD would have made abetter investment, but my wrist loves the Sub.

Not saying Sub is better than an SD. My point is: which is "better" will vary per person. Try both and decide.

Not the same at all... The no date sub is.

The SD has no real competition.

I have both the SD and Sub. To be honest unless you really really dislike the Cyclops I would go for a Sub. For me the Sub is slightly more comfy to wear and in terms of real world performance the Sub is just as good as the SD.

I would suggest to have a look at both of them in the flesh if poss, as others have said the Sub dial does look a lot bigger despite only a 1
mm difference.

There are a few more pros and cons as I am sure other members will add.

I will now keep my Sub as daily wear.

And not to mention the thicker bezel and its cut makes the SD glitter like it has little diamonds reflecting light.... you can tell by SDs bezel that it means business....
