What Watches do Your Friends Wear?

I saw the post below, "Friends Watches", and it made me think ...
Do your friends also wear Rolex or other high end watches. Mine don't. The guy who put the commercial membrane roof on my office building does - he owns several Rolex's. But of the people I spend any real time with, which includes my business development club members, my attorneys, my bankers, etc., I am the only one who wears a Rolex. And very few of my clients do, regardless of their net worth. I really find it kind of odd, but maybe it's not so odd. You tell me.

My friends think I'm crazy ... but the fact is that for the last 5 years they have been living off of mom and dad, I have been building my career and making money (Im 24 years old refering to high school friends). It would be nice to have friends that enjoy fine time pieces... but then again, thats what you guys/gals are

Several people in the group that we socialize with do, I have one friend with three Rolex's, another with an Exp II and anther with a dozen Omega's (he has flipped quite a few GMT's & Subs). I really do not discuss my hobby with my friends, only a few people know about it, my closest friend has no idea! Sadly, where I live, too many people are materialistic, and I do not want to give that impression.

A few friends are just getting into Breitlings, etc.. At work out of 100 or so there are a handful of Rolexes, a few Breitlings, a few Omegas and a PAM.

My Bank Manager's a WIS (Breitling)...
My Financial Adviser's a WIS (Hublot)....
My Insurance Broker's a WIS (Rolex).....
& My Best Friend's just asked me what sorta 'decent watch' look good on his 9" wrist.

Other than that most people I know who know about my love for watches (eh?!) just think it's ridiculous spending £000's on watch.

My friends think I'm crazy for paying thousands of dollars for a watch. Of course, they wouldn't know anything because they are wearing a Dolce & Gabana or no watch at all.

My English teacher wears a Cartier Tank, she's not my friend though.

One of my friends used to wear a Movado, and mostly others just wear digital watches or use their phones.

My friends are a loyal bunch of slobs......Too bad they have no idea what a good watch is, and they get confused when I wear a Rolex instead of buying toys for my motorcycle. One of my friends started telling me how he got this great watch on a cruise and how it's not a Rolex, but It's gold. OK I tell him, let me see. Comes out wearing a gold watch next time i saw him.......I didn't have the heart to tell him it was plated.

That's exactly how I feel about it. The very few who recognize I wear a Rolex don't think a thing about it. And one or two of those I associate with know watches are a hobby for me. But, since it is a hobby, I notice what people wear out of "habit" for lack of a better word.

I look at all of your watches, and thoes from the breitling forum as well... Here is where i share my watch enthusiasm and look at others. in real life, i dont see many watches that look very interesting.. the people where i live are carefull or should I say conservative about their spending....
I do have one friend who collects iWC and zeniths..

I am a fan of Zenith myself, but do not own one. I'm hankering for a Zenith Daytona, actually, but that is down the road, after a GMT.

Well, the reason I started this thread was to prove a point to myself, which I believe you have all helped me to do.

You are either a WIS, or you just don't get it! It's not necessarily about money, or position, or accomplishment ... yada, yada, yada ...

It's really about a love and/or appreciation for fine watches. And that's why I love this forum. Regardless of a lot of things, hundreds of us check in every day based on our love of watches. I think that's great!
