Panda eyes IWC Portuguese Chronograph
I have been wearing my Helson Shark Diver for the past month. I am now so use to its size 44mm, so much so, that when I wear my Rolex Datejust for a formal occassion it feels far too small.
Hence my excuse and I decided to look for a dress watch. It did not take me long to decide and got myself the IWC Portuguese Chrono. IWC -01.jpg IWC-02.jpg IWC-03.jpg IWC-04.jpg IWC-05.jpg Love thoses Panda eyes. It's size 41mm feels ok. |

Great dial!!!! I've never seen this one before. What is the ref number on this one? 3714-??
I thought the the only panda was the 3714-04.

Is the watch you posted in your original thread a recent or vintage? It's beautiful!

Tell me more, I am sorry for bringing up an old thread but would
love to hear others who have a IWC Port Chrono. My wife bought me a JLC 986 Duo Date Reverso for my wedding present but the case is just too long and not comfortable on my wrist. My dealer and I are looking for options of something a bit dressy I can own forever and not easily tire of so the RG Port Chrono is a SERIOUS candidate. My AD also had the Master Memovox International by JLC but I just didn't love it....

The 7 day is nice but Id never need a 7 day in a dress watch.
Someday when I wear a more delicate watch on a daily basis I could see owning a SS 7 Day Port but for dress and RG I really like the Chrono, it just looks much cleaner (for a dress watch) to me. As for in house vs ETA.... Myself if its not a Rolex I like an ETA as most any watchmaker in the world can service it so you aren't only at the mercy of an in house service center.

Nice watch, and I would agree about not-needing a 7 day watch too... :)
2 days or 3 days would do just fine with me... 7 days is an excuse for more expensive pricetag... hehehe.. |
