Turn out the lights the party's over .............
All good things come to an end it seems. Awhile back Casey Fuqua aka The Time Keeper, sold his gray market store preownedrolex.com to someone that evidently didn't understand the market. As of today it is no more it seems. The web site is dead. Kind of sad to see as there are a number of us that bought watches from Case over the years.

Did he retire? or did the market sink his business? I wish him the best either way!

He sold the business a little over a year ago. It's the new owners that have gone down hill it seems.

If it's the same Case I'm thinking about he was quite rude and often listed the MSRP on the watches when new, too high to make his price look better.

Wonder if you dealt with some of the hangers on that would assist when he got over loaded with calls. I never had a problem with him.

I didn't think that is was right of him to list MSRP's higher than they were to make his deals look better. When I called him on it he got very upset and rude.

I had a good dealing with him. Bought the wife a nice DJ. Didn't give it to her for about a year (wedding present). Prior to giving it to her a screw in the bracelet came loose. He repaired it for free even though I had it for quite awhile.

Yeah, I think for the most part, most of us that delt with him had a great experience. Everyone has an off day in his kind of business. It's just so sad to see what was once a really great place to buy a Rolex go down the tubes if in fact that is what has happened. I don't think the web site being down this long is weather related.

I bought a watch from him...it was my first, and he was well recommended.
After that, I became more active in this forum, and started looking at picking up more watches. In those contexts, I had multiple direct and private communications with Cayce in which he was Trite Rude Disrespectful Deceptive Profane He was subsequently banned from this forum for exhibiting some of those qualities publicly. All I had the nerve to do was ask him for clarification on some of the pieces he had listed for sale where the textual description CLEARLY did not match the watch pictured for sale. He also used the same pictures for multiple listings on at least two different references, and he responded very unprofessionally when I pointed out that fact. I know of no instances where people were ripped off. I don't think he intentionally engaged in deceptive trade practices--I just think he got lazy towards the end with his website and was an old man with a bad attitude. All in all, Cayce did a great service to many, many forum members in facilitating watch purchases at very reasonable prices. I myself chose a Rolex Submariner for my first purchase of a fine timepiece at least in part because I was able to make a comfortable purchase at a great price from a reputable dealer. But for his website, I might be an Omega or Breitling guy today. Maybe he just retired a year too late.
